Chapter 98

Will it be logical with either the undead or lowly demons? Or illogical with either abominations or some cultists?
Logical plot twist: Undead, Demons, and a Golem oh my!
After Blair took a few steps forward, the world around her changed before her very eyes. What was once the junkyard's pile of discarded building supplies had changed into a rather unusual place. She saw a giant golem made out of various building materials, bricks, wood, glass, cement, and various metals. It was fighting in between two armies. Both of these armies were rather massive, but they were also unique. On the left side was an eerie undead army comprised of zombies, lesser vampires, and decaying snakes. This army was led by a rather beautiful spectral being. A mere second before a notification appeared in the center of her view, she used Observe on the spectral beauty.
You have entered: Druhm's Discarded Building Supplies and Materials
You may not exit this illusion barrier until Druhm and one of the faction leaders, either Damya or Owa Ruinsurge has been defeated.
Observe:
Title: The Unwanted Musician, Guild: N/A, Class: Wailing Bard, Name: Damya, lvl: 20, Height: 5'
Weight: 0, Age: 216, Bust: B cup, Body type: Slender/Spectral. Race: Ghost, Relationship: 0
Mood: Annoyed, Focused, yet Forlorn, Current thoughts: I think this battlefield would be greatly enhanced by my beautiful singing..
Blair was slightly confused by what Damya meant by her beautiful singing. That was until there was a momentary pause in the fighting. The groans and clashing of flesh and bones against the hard hide of the giant golem came to a halt. A pale blue light surrounded Damya's small form. This allowed Blair to see Damya's form clearly, she looked like a painting brought to life. She had a short oval face, arched eyebrows, slightly closed eyes, a delicately small nose, and heart shaped lips. Although she was slightly transparent, this didn't detract from her elegant and slender build.
Blair shook her head, realizing that she was becoming somewhat attracted to this ghost. However, this only became worse when Damya's lovely voice rang out, starting with a deep and low tone. "I am cold in my corner, but I see what I need. The fires of life, crumbling beneath me. I'm afraid of this hunger. This need to believe. That there is more to life than this to be free." As her voice echoed through the air, that pale blue light around her began to expand outward, soon sweeping over the giant golem as well as the opposing army.
An odd chill filled the air, followed by snow falling within the pale blue light. An eerie wind began to stir, sweeping over the battlefield. This bolstered Damya's army while slowing the giant golem as well as many of the opposing army. This was not all, it even froze many in their tracks. However, just when the tide of this battle was starting to go in her favor, an orange light began to swell from the other side of the battlefield. Blair hadn't noticed this figure before, but he looked a lot like Ryan Reynolds.
This figure was surrounded by several different types of demons. Blair could clearly see hellhounds and satyrs, but what drew her attention away from him were the flying skulls surrounded by yellow fire. They were solid white and had grey horns coming out of their temples. This made her think. 'Is Gaia trying to say Ryan Reynolds is a demon? That isn't very nice. I have never heard of him being a bad guy.' It was at this moment that Caesar dragged over a zombie's leg by the femur before dropping it by her feet. She smiled at him while kneeling down to rub the top of his head. "Hmm, did you bring this for me?"
Caesar rubbed the left his muzzle against Blair's cheek, letting out a soft bark before looking back down to the leg happily. Obviously proud of his find. She chuckled before kissing the top of his head. "I'm sorry, but this isn't something either of us should be eating. Go put it back." He lowered his head with a soft whimper before doing as he was told. As he did, she stood back up while looking back over to that figure. A mere second after using Observe on him, a notification appeared in the center of her view.
Observe:
Title: Cinder Cloud, Guild: N/A, Class: Pyromancer, Name: Owa Ruinsurge, lvl: 20, Height: 5' 11"
Weight: 182, Age: 371, Dick size: 9 inches, Body type: Ripped/Muscular. Race: Demon, Relationship: 0
Mood: Excited, Focused, and Slightly Annoyed, Current thoughts: I am tired of you trying to freeze my troops, Damya. It's time to turn the tides in my favor!
He isn't a "bad guy", that's exactly why I am demonizing him.
You have your fantasies and I have mine. -wink-
After a few seconds, a wave of fire swept across the battlefield, clearing the snow and ice while bolstering Owa's troops. This wave of fire continued to Damya's troops, causing many of them to burn up, but they were simply replaced shortly after. As Blair watched this battle continue, she realized how amazing it was. It was on whole other level than what she had witnessed between Scrik and Uggozan. Not only were these armies far more powerful, but their leaders were a true **** to be reckoned with as well. As that thought crossed her mind, a new quest appeared.
A Show of Good Will..
- Kill 8 Imps and/or Hellhounds
- Kill 3 Spitfires
Reward: 10 Rp with Damya, Leader of the Undead Hordes, 210 xp, and evolve Create Undead lvl 1 into one of three options
or
- Kill 8 Zombies and/or Lesser Vampires
- Kill 3 Decaying Snakes
Reward: 10 Rp with Owa Ruinsurge, Leader of the Mass of Demons, 210 xp, and gain a new skill, Cinder Missiles lvl 1
Accept or Decline?
Blair read all that before mentally hitting, 'Accept.' before clicking on the question mark near the possible new ability, Cinder Missiles lvl 1. As it popped up, Caesar walked over to her right leg before laying down.
Cinder Missiles lvl 1 - Range 2 yd
Cost: 50 Mp
Launches 2 fire missiles per level of this spell in a straight line.
Each missile deals 50 damage + 50% of Intellect and Wisdom.
If an enemy dies to Cinder Missiles, restore 10% of your maximum Hp and Mp.
Special note: This spell deals an additional 100% damage to foes below 25% health.
Blair was quite surprised by the power of this spell. Although it was short ranged, it certainly had a lot of potential. Given her combat kit, this was just the type of ability she needed. She already had a way to knock down powerful foes with Way of the Tide, but nothing to help her sustain herself during drawn out fights. Sure, she had Healing fists for healing and Evocation to restore her mana. But sadly, Evocation had a 10 minute cooldown and Healing fists only restored 1.5% of her health per punch within a 20 second duration per cast. This left a lot to be desired during longer fights, especially with adds.
Blair could easily see this ability being very useful against powerful bosses that summoned a lot of weak adds or simply a lot of weaker foes. She felt her body tremble with excitement, wanting to have this ability already. However, she shook her head, knowing full well that something better may be just around the corner. Any gamer worth their salt would be sure to checkout every option before making a decision. With this in mind, she clicked on the evolve, Create Undead lvl 1 option to see what was available.
What she saw was the following:
Option 1:
Create Greater Undead lvl 1 - Range 10 yd
Cost: 100 Mp
Create 1 Greater Skeleton with 250% of your health and deals 250% of your Intellect as damage per strike.
This Greater Skeleton is immune to slashing and piercing damage.
Each cast of this spell has a 25% chance to create an improved class type. (Monk, Cleric, Mage, or Necromancer)
Lasts until Cancelled. Limit 1.
Special note: If there is a corpse or skeleton within range, 50% of the cost will be refunded.
Option 2:
Summon Apparition lvl 1 - Range 20 yd
Cost: 150 Mp
Summon 1 Apparition with 100% of your health and deals 100% of your Intellect as damage per strike.
This Apparition is immune to all physical and psychic damage, but will decay quickly in sunlight.
An Apparition may possess up to 1 inanimate object or living target every 2 minutes.
Lasts until Cancelled. Limit 1.
Special note: If the Apparition possesses a living target it will restore its full health over 10 seconds.
Option 3:
(Passive) Chill of the Grave rank 1 (Links with Nightmare if selected)
Once every 72 hours, instead of dying you will regain 100% Hp and Mp, becoming an undead version of yourself for 5 minutes.
During this time you are immune to physical, psychic, and frost damage.
You may regenerate health from negative energy spells and effects, but will be **** to fire, holy, and sunlight spells and effects.
If you survive this duration, you will return to normal with 50% of your health and mana.
Blair's eyes widened after reading that last ability. She couldn't believe it, an ability that would actually protect her from ****!? Was that even fair? However, this put her in a bit of a bind. Both Cinder Missiles and Chill of the Grave were great abilities. As with any ability they had pros and cons. On one hand, Cinder Missiles covered a rather large blind spot within her current combat kit, but only worked at close range and fired in a straight line. Whereas Chill of the Grave gave her a rather large window to recover from an otherwise fatal mistake, but had a very very long cooldown.
There was one major benefit Blair could see to getting Chill of the Grave over Cinder Missiles. It was far less likely that she would get a second chance at an ability like it, but was it really worth it? Which should she choose? Should she go with Owa Ruinsurge and receive Cinder Missiles? Or side with Damya and select Chill of the Grave?

I am basing the world off of "The Gamer" by Sangyoung Seong. I wanted to shake it up and add more flexibility.
