One Cocky Golduck

You begin to see a hue of red beginning to glow from under the surface of the water a bit of ways off, with sizzling bubbles beginning to boil over it. Before you could warn Jackal of it, a glowing crimson beam of light flashes out from the water to narrowly miss the Typhlosion and hits the sandy ground next to him. However, the explosion sends the Typhlosion to fly back, hurtling into the ground with a small burst of dirt to fly out. You look inside the murky waters to witness a light blue Golduck hop out from the water, spreading droplets across the pond from his sudden leap while spreading an open sinister smile along his flat beak.

He splashes back into the shallow part of the water enough to stand just a few meters out from where you were standing, bringing him to at least knee-deep water.

Swinging an arm to point a clawed and webbed finger at his target, the blue duck exclaims, “Shit, I can't actually believe I just missed that!” The duck begins to count on his fingers. "Hang on a sec; the element of surprise, a powerful shot, the fact that I was hidden, had plenty o' time to charge and aim... and I still missed? Fuck me dude, that's embarrassin'." He was apparently cursing himself; yet, his cocky smile never left his beak. The red stone engraved in his forehead begins to dim in color, cooling off after it had been recently fired.

You growl out to the stranger, “What was that for?! We're not infected! You nearly killed him!” You flash your fangs out as you tense your arms, expecting a fight.

The Golduck simply crosses his arms against his chest, huffing out in a gloating manner. “Jeez, rub it in that I missed, why don'tcha? You’re even grouchier than the purple-eyed freaks, mutt.” The Golduck chuckles out. His arrogant attitude was about to tip you over your stress level as the smug duck continues, “Aw man, wait, you're both dudes? Damn, I never get any hot chicks to trespass this pond. You'd think girls would wanna skinny-dip in a lake sometime, but I guess the freaks get to 'em first.” He groans in a disappointed tone, although he shrugs afterward. “But still, a meal’s a meal! I'm damn hungry, and there ain't no fish left in this lake~”

That was the tip over. He ate ‘trespassers’ on the lake for his own satisfaction, whether they were infected or not. Lacking a food source or not, it was unjustifiable in your mind. He could easily find a new place to earn some food, or eat from the fruit or vegetation the forest around had to offer. He just ate out of the pleasure of it from what it sounds like.

You were going to take this bird down. Looking over, Jackal was too busy coughing out in agony from the burns he just sustained, and your leg would be a bit of a pesky problem to deal with, but...what other choices were there then besides fighting? There's no way you're going to bargain peace with this malicious runt.

The Golduck suddenly blasts forward in the water, jetting across the aquatic surface in high speeds as vapor splashes violently behind him. You aren't ready to risk your injured leg yet, so dodging was out of the question. You power energy together, combining aura energy into a burning blue globe of vigor. Before the Golduck could reach his clawed grasp around you, you launch the bright sphere and…!
