Closing the First Cycle

Another new morning, another trigger to unlock.

"Man, I really need that timer extended," Makoto said. "It's absurd how fast I have to go."

As of now, Toko's action was the only one he hadn't unlocked yet.

Toko's action was a problem. Yeah, getting insulted was something that was easy, but specifically calling him a manwhore was something that was difficult. She was so creative with her insults, so he could just as easily been called a garbage bag or a shithead or something. As he was pondering this, he thought that maybe it would be easiest if he were to just ignore Toko's until the next Action Status rolled over, and focus himself on the other girls. But as he was thinking about that, Monokuma's words echoed in his mind.

"I didn't add this to the instructions, but once you've gotten all the girls to the same level, you'll unlock something that will definitely help you in the game. It will vary depending on what level you achieve, but they're much more useful than an individual trigger."

"Grr... if Monokuma's really telling the truth, then I really should activate Toko's. If he said it's helpful and not 'exciting', I should definitely get it."

After getting dressed, he headed to the dining hall, thinking of ways to possibly get her to call him that.

"Okay, okay, I have a plan," he said. "I'll sit with Sayaka, close enough to Toko that she can observe me. Then I'll have a conversation with Kyoko and Celeste. Then I'll compliment Hina and stare at Junko. And I'll act all affectionate to everyone. If that's not enough, I can move onto someone else." He entered the dining hall and sat down near Toko.

"Why are you sitting so close to me, you manwhore?"

"Really? It's that easy?" he asked. "I literally did nothing."

"Action Complete," she said. "Passive Trigger Unlocked: Catlike Cleanup. Estimated Cleanup Time: Two Minutes"

Well, that was quick. He really had nothing to clean up during this time, so he just plopped into his seat and pulled out his handbook to see what he had unlocked. Still, he was shocked that it happened that fast and effortlessly.

Toko Fukawa's Triggers:

As he backed out of her profile, he noticed something new on the very edge of the charts and profiles, something called Extras. He was about to click on it, but time resumed. He should probably check it later when he's alone.

Breakfast was over, and he was back in his room. "Alright, let's see what this is," he said, clicking on Extras.

Extras are unlocked after achieving a common level with all girls. Unlike Triggers, these can be toggled on and off, and can target a wider variety of people.

As he navigated back to the main screen, he checked his tasks.

"Is this good or bad?" he asked. Well, of course, he'd have to perform harder tasks, but on the bright side he would be able to circumvent the tasks he had now.

But once again, he realized he should probably do another task tonight because of how early he triggered Toko's.

"I hate this timer," he said. "At the very least, I should wait until very late tonight."

Makoto walked into the laundry room with a basket of his dirty clothes. Inside there was Junko, who was reading a book while her washing machine spurred.
