Tea Time

Makoto’s eyes combed over the Monopad. Once. twice. Three times now. But the words barely registered to his mind. He had to do something but this would be playing into the bears trap. Yet this delay could save his friends' lives. And something like this could serve as a great distraction from the oppressive atmosphere of Hope's Peak.

Immediately after that though, Makoto felt sick as if his stomach was filled with molten hot lead. “No this isn't about me! I need to save everyone and figure a way out of this screwed up game.” He needed to calm down. Maybe grab a drink or some food and think this over.

Not long after, the lucky student made his way over to the cafeteria sweating bullets and mumbling to himself. An act that was in no way suspicious nor did it draw attention to him. Makoto paced the lunch room now faced with further decisions yet finding no comfort. He needed to settle down somehow. Yet his feet dragged him along as if having a mind of their own. He was spiraling out of control at this rate and Monokuma was savoring this morsel set before him.

“Hey ya Makoto! You alright? You look like you've seen a ghost or something.”

The sweet voice of the airheaded swimmer spooked him into reality. “HINA!” he yelled

“Whoa whoa, calm down Makoto, nothing to worry about, just me.” She put her hands in the air in some odd attempt to show she was unarmed. Great now he was scaring his friends. “You wanna talk about it? Maybe Sakura and I could help? She was supposed to meet me here in like an hour or so.” He could barely look her in the eyes out of guilt, yet what other option did he have. Besides, Aoi was reliable in her own sort of way.

A small sense of relief lifted his spirits. “Sure. But can we just hang out for a bit maybe talk over some donuts or tea”

And as if on cue, Asahina's eyes clouded over and Makoto turned to stone. A buzz went off within his pocket and a unnatural tone came from the swimmer.

“Passive Trigger Unlocked: Highschool Sweethearts. Clean Up Time: One minute.”

“OH FUCK!” Any and all calm fell away. What had he just done? Oh god what if he fucked up her brain forever?

“SHIT SHIT SHIT!” Knees weak, palms sweaty, he reached for the monopad only for the pad to slip from his grip and fall under the table. He scrambled under the table as valuable seconds ticked by.

“I got iiiiiiitttt!” he shrieked. His words and his head slammed into the metal table after feeling a firm grip on his rear. The world turned black.

“Ohhhh.” the boy let out a low groan hand reaching for where the pain stemmed from only to find himself tucked into his bed and a ice pack above his head.

“AH MAKOTO! YOU'RE ALRIGHT!” Suddenly he was thrust into the marshmallow hell of Aoi. “ I was so worried, are you alright? How many fingers am I holding up? Do you know where you are? Who you are? WHO I AM!?” her lips moved at a mile a minute as she refused to stop suffocating the manlet.

“Five. Hope's Peak. Makoto Naegi, Ultimate loser. Aoi Asahina Ultimate Swimmer.” he choked out.

“Oh thank god you are okay. Except for the loser part.” she began to play with his hair. “Sorry about startling you but you know I wanted to surprise you especially with displaying yourself like that to me. You were basically taunting me with that ass. And you always make the cutest lil sounds when you're surprised”

Makoto paled quickly.

“Well, I need to meet up with Sakura for lunch. Do you need anything from the cafeteria?” He could only shake his head. “Alright then, I’ll see you later tonight and be sure to rest up!” she leaned down by his ear. “Love you” she said in a small whisper before running off.

That was bizarre but at least a task had been completed. He spotted his pad next to him and looked it over once more.
