AR Day 4 - Dry off

You and Adella skipped breakfast, so you are too hungry to do anything before eating some lunch. You dry off and put your clothes on, then head down to the dining room, where the girls are gathering. You see all the coaches follow some strange women into a conference room and shut the door. You wonder what's going on in there. Some of the other girls are whispering about this new league that everyone's wondering about.

Adella is on her phone. She shows you a photo of a beautiful, tanned brunette in a bikini and a big straw hat.

"Who's that?" you ask, suddenly anxious. Is that her girlfriend sending her a new picture? She's really gorgeous. You don't know if you can compete with that.

"My new step-mother," Adella says, tossing the phone on the table.

Oh.

"Your dad's a lucky guy," you say and she snorts.

"What's your family like, America?"

"Uh, my parents are doctors. I have a sister," you tell her.

"Is she as cute as you? Show me a picture," Adella says.

"Don't you ever even look at my sister," you say sternly, and she laughs. "She's underage."

"OK." Adella chews her sandwich and looks over at the next table, where Lara is obviously trying to cozy up to Beth. You remember Lara's advances toward you yesterday, but you are not interested. Your penis is not calling the shots now, your heart is.

Michelle suddenly sits across from you, making you jump. A moment later the Japanese coach, Motoko, sits beside her. Motoko is Aki's coach, but she is also the supervising coach for some of the other players, including Adella. For the first day or two of camp, Adella's real coach was here, but she left for some reason. You have never seen Adella and Motoko actually talk.

"You almost done here?" Michelle asks brusquely.

You and Adella are both chewing. You look at each other.

"Almost," you say.

"Come see us on the patio as soon as you are. Hurry up." Michelle gets up, and Motoko goes with her. You both watch them cross the lodge and go outside... where it's cold.

"They want to go out in the cold?" you ask, puzzled.

Adella looks worried and you are too. Michelle is usually so friendly and cheerful. She's acting serious. Something is up. The meeting between the coaches and those people must be over.
