Frank goes golfing

Once he sent Evie on her way Frank decided to get out of the house for a while. He loaded his golf clubs into his SUV and headed for the club he had joined when he moved into the area. He'd never been much of a golfer, having never had the time or patience to be proficient, but he was good enough not to embarrass himself. Besides, he found that a leisurely walk relaxed him, and allowed him time to think.

In the pro-shop he found that there was a tee time available immediately, and that the course wasn't crowded so he could take his time. His attention was drawn to a discussion going on between one of the employees and a young woman in a short golf dress.

"I'm sorry miss, but you have to be a member to play here."

"But, you're not even busy! And I'll pay! Please! I came all the way here!"

"I'm sorry miss, but the club rules are very clear."

"Couldn't you make an exception? Just this once? Please!"

Frank eyed the young blonde, amused by her presumption and admiring her legs and what was obviously a well formed body. He watched the girl plead and wheedle for several minutes before finally speaking.

"The young lady is my guest, unless she has an objection. We can play together."

The blonde turned to look at him, grinning in surprise and extending her hand.

"That is so sweet! I'm Laura. Laura Rhodes."

"Frank Castillo. Always glad to help a lady in distress."

"It's my fault. I should have checked before I came. I thought it was a public course."

"No harm done. You ready?"

"I'm always ready," she laughed, winking at him as the two of them headed for the first tee.
