An Escape Plan of Some Kind

Mercy went to the door to actually turn the knob, but no matter which way she did, it wouldn't budge. Next, she tried giving the door a good, hard kick, but it didn't even rattle or shake a bit. Luthor, in the meantime was sitting in front of the table, morbidly trying to figure out where he went wrong. As you rolled your eyes to watch her trying to break down the door, your frustration was starting to boil in your blood, so to speak. "Will one of you please get me out of here?"

"Mercy?" Luthor spoke. "Gag him so I can think clearly."

"What?!" She silently did as she was told, taking off her glove and stuffed your mouth with it. Your muffled protests died down slowly as they tried to figure things out without you.

"How could this have gone so sourly? Again?" Luthor couldn't even find fault in what he had done, or probably didn't wish to, you figured. So you decide to think on a plan to escape: on the one hand, you could always think of an animal and use its strength to break free. But you'd bleed and probably lose some strength, nanites or no... On the other, you could make a construct to cut yourself, not only free but quite literally, too; the only other power you've used is that phasing one against Parasite...

You hadn't got the hang of that one yet, but you couldn't afford to waste a second, so you concentrated on thinking like a ghost: going through objects and letting things pass right through you. Oddly enough, J'onn's transparent form lined up with yours and you suddenly became see-through! You stayed focused and sank through the table, disappearing from Mercy's line of sight when turned to look at her boss. "Um, Lex?"

"Not now, Mercy. I'm trying to concentrate," he argued.

"Lex, he's gone." He stood up and began with 'I told you not to--' before he actually allowed her words to sink in.

"What?" He looked behind him, and all he saw were loosely bent razor wires resting on the surface. "Where'd he go?!" You rose up through the floor on the other side of the door, glaring at them with folded arms. You were cross at them for using you for their scheme...

"Over here." They look to where you stood, and Luthor angrily banged on the door, yelling at and threatening you. You just... stood there, not moving a muscle.

"Are you listening?!" Luthor bellowed.

"Loud and clear..." you growl back. Mercy meanwhile was getting the feeling that you were just going to abandon them, and that involuntarily triggered a memory of the time Luthor abandoned her after Brainiac got hit by a magnetic beam.

She didn't want to be abandoned again...

When you said you would be back, and started walking away, she ran to the door and actually pushed her boss to the side and pleaded with you... "Shadow, don't leave us like this. Please! Don't leave me...!" Lex was in shock that she would behave 'shamelessly,' in that manner.

You also were shocked, looking back at her. "Please let us out. Let me out! I'll do anything I can to help."

"Mercy, you traitor!" You actually watch him sock her right in the jaw as she gets knocked down. You were aghast at what you were seeing overall...
