Melody Doesn't Know

"I...I...I don't know." Melody mutters, blinking rapidly. "This is just so...sudden, Meghan. I never thought of girls in that way...at least not seriously..."

"Well, I refuse to date Jack if you're not in this too." Meghan said, crossing her arms. "No one deserves him more then you do."

"I love Jack, but I couldn't take him from you, not since you've revealed how you feel about him." Melody said, glancing around nervously. Her eyes meet yours and she immediatly looks away. "So...either we both have him or neither of us do?"

"It seems that way." Meghan nodded. "And that wouldn't fair to him." You simply sit back in awe at this conversation. Really, anything you would have to add would be superfluous and derail where this is headed.

"No...no, it wouldn't." Melody said softly. "And it wouldn't be fair to us either." She drummed her fingers on her legs nervously. "It's just that...the three of us? It goes against everything I've been taught about love. And people will talk, you know?"

"Let them talk." Meghan scoffed. "The heart wants what the heart wants. I don't want to give up on Jack because of some jackass taunts, do you?"

"No." Melody whispers. She seems to think for a second, then looks at you. You can feel the deep emotions she holds for you in her eyes. "I love you, Jack."

"I love you too, Melody." You reply. She nods, then turns back to Meghan. "You will go slow with me, right? I'm not really sure I'm that ready to...open up to another girl yet."

"So...you're in?" Meghan asks hopefully.

"I want Jack with all my heart." She nods. "I'm in." Both girls turn to look at you. You try hard to keep the grin from your face. Meghan speaks up first.

"I know we've been keeping you out of this, Jack, but it's your final decision in the end. I know it's weird and unorthodox, but it's the only way we can make this work. We both love you enough to share you...do you want to be in a three-way relationship with the both of us?"
