THREE MONTHS LATER

Kynan grabbed the set of casual robes from his locker in the Slave’s Quarters and put them on. It always felt weird to wear something besides lingerie after they’d gotten used to the palace dress code which was surprisingly strict even though nudity factored into it heavily. Rosa was set to rotate in today, which meant he got to rotate out to their apartment in the city to work at the embassy. It was a good job that paid well on top of the money they were paid working for (and sometimes directly under) the Queen, but it wasn’t nearly as stimulating.

Seeing as he didn’t really have any other personal affects, he took the exit designated for palace staff and made his way to the apartment he and Rosa shared. It was a modest place with regular amenities: one bed (they shared when they both were at the Embassy) one bath, a kitchen, and a living space. Rosa had recently gotten into art collecting and had hung a few small art pieces both from their home world as well as pieces from a couple talented local artists. Tickets to the city’s opera house sat on the counter, and the faint smell of incense hung in the air.

He had just gotten inside and began taking off the outer layer of his robes when his commlink beeped, signaling a message from one of the people he’d met outside of the harem.
