Unforgettable Past - The Village's Tragedy ( 2 ) ( Main Story )
As Asa was chatting with her classmates, Sigurd was taken away to his father's tent so he can recover.
Strangely, no one knew why he fainted.
Some said that he was too shocked by being taken out in one hit from Asa while others said that he ate something strange.
Even Asa was confused.
Turning around to continue chatting, she smiled at her classmates.
...
As Sigurd was resting on his bed, Aron Dragonfire, his father, was confused about how his son fainted.
"Are you telling me... he fainted as Arnora's daughter punched him?" Aron said weirdly as he glanced from Sigurd and the Teacher, who was explaining what happened.
From what the teacher explained, Aron became even more confused.
After all, Sigurd wasn't someone who would faint from a punch.
He was someone who literally took punches from everyone in the village and stood up as if nothing happened.
But, Aron couldn't do or say anything, after all, Sigurd fainted.
So, he and the teacher just sighed at each other and went back to work.
But, they failed to notice something.
Sigurd was slightly trembling while clenching his fists.
He was frowning more and more.
Soon, he started to clench his teeth too.
It was as if... he was fighting.
Fighting something inside him.
...
Inside Sigurd's ( Miraak's Young Mind ) mind.
Black.
Pure black.
No light.
No floor.
No ceiling.
No right or left.
Somewhere in this endless abyss, a child was staring at something in the endless black.
Strangely enough, the child was the only source of light in such a nightmarish place.
The child was Sigurd.
"... What have you done..." Sigurd said almost shouting at the darkness.
In response, a pair of eyes opened themselves in the darkness.
The pair of eyes were staring at the small child as if he was an insect.
The being didn't have a body. It didn't have a head or limbs.
It just had eyes.
Pure blackish and greenish eyes.
The eyes just continued staring at the child more and more intensely.
Suddenly, the black space started to become slimy.
Floor, ceiling, everywhere.
Everywhere became a strange blackish and greenish jelly liquid.
It was swallowing everything.
As Sigurd's legs started to enter the strange liquid, "... What have you done!!..." he shouted in rage.
Because he knew it.
He knew who the being was.
It was as if a feeling was telling him who the being was.
The being was... himself.
But... he didn't want to believe it.
A being so repugnant.
A being so evil.
How? Why? Where? When? What? Etc...
As he was being 'absorbed' by the other him, he started to see what would happen in the future.
Sigurd was becoming more and more enraged as he started to see what would happen.
Betrayal.
Pain.
Greed.
Desperation.
Sigurd could see everything he became.
Even though he was a 'Mature' child, he was still a child.
So he just couldn't understand.
No matter how much he saw it.
Again and again.
He saw himself destroying everything, including himself for power.
A deformation.
A monster.
Again and again, he repeated the visions.
Sigurd just couldn't understand how and why.
When did he change?
The eyes just stared at the struggling child.
...
As Sigurd was fighting inside his mind, something strange was happening around the village.
Since the night started, different liquids slowly started to transform into a blackish and greenish slimy thing.
No matter what people did, no matter the liquid, as soon as it touched the ground, it started to transform itself into it.
The Stormcloak family was having problems controlling the strange liquid.
The problem wasn't having water to drink but... the problem was that the liquid was extremely 'hostile'.
It was as if it was alive.
Small tentacles danced as it searched other sources like himself.
No matter how much everyone tried to stop them, they continued forward.
Toward the center of the village, the plaza.
After some time, every single slimy thing joined together in the middle of the village.
But as everyone was starting to fight it, it slowly 'dissolved' itself on the floor.
"... What..:" Arnora said with an arrow ready to fire.
Every single warrior was in the plaza ready for a fight.
'... It just disappeared?...' She thought confused.
But... no one was with Sigurd.
As the strange liquid dissolved itself on the floor, the strange liquid started to appear around Sigurd's bed.
It slowly approached the 'sleeping' child and entered his body through his ears and nose.
No matter how much it entered, it continued entering.
...
Inside Sigurd's mind.
The eyes staring at Sigurd started to widen.
Even though Sigurd was being bombarded with pure madness, he still had determination in his eyes.
"I'm not you... I'm not you... I'm not you..." He kept murmuring to himself to reassure himself.
As more and more liquid entered Sigurd's body, a new body was being formed inside his mind.
It was made of the same disgusting liquid.
First, it was the feet.
With golden boots being formed, it slowly started to produce Its legs.
Along with its legs, it produced its robes.
Blackish robes with golden dragons as ornaments.
It was not a fitting robe for a good mage.
It represented the pure greed Miraak had.
Since Sigurd saw the future, he stared at the robe in pure disgust.
"What have I become..." Sigurd said sighing.
"You became stronger." It spoke.
Turning his glance at the eyes, Sigurd saw the liquid form a grotesque tentacle mask around the blackish eyes.
"... Stronger then you could even dream." It continued sarcastically.
"... At what cost? AT WHAT COST!?" Sigurd shouted more and more in rage.
As the newly formed Black Miraak glared at Sigurd, it slowly raised his right hand.
An image of Asa Stormcloak appeared.
An image of Aron Dragonfire appeared.
An image of Arnora Stormcloak appeared.
An image of Vigot Ironside appeared.
As more and more images appeared, Sigurd widened more and more his eyes.
"... No... What... No... What have you done!?... You Monster!!..." Sigurd shouted in pure rage, struggling to leave the blackish liquid.
"... What I had to do to be stronger." The Black Miraak slowly said bored and raised his left arm this time.
A screen started to appear in Sigurd's mind.
...
As finally, all the blackish liquid entered Sigurd, he started trembling more and more.
After some time trembling, a blackish fog started to leave Sigurd's body.
It slowly formed a humanoid figure.
Golden ornaments started to appear.
Black Robes started to appear.
A grotesque mask started to appear.
As the black fog finally finished taking Miraak's form.
It slowly turned around and stared at the sleeping Sigurd.
After some seconds, it turned around and started to leave the tent.
...
As the warriors of the village were confused with the disappearance of the strange liquid, all the archers suddenly turned around in the same direction.
Arnora, not only the best archer in the village but the strongest warrior there, could see it.
A strange-looking man leaving Sigurd's tent.
At the same she saw him, she felt something she long forgot.
Terror.
The difference in power.
It was as if an Adult Warrior was staring at a defenseless baby.
Fear started to spread all parts of the body.
Her heart started to beat faster.
Sweat started to appear everywhere.
Her fists clenched.
All the archers soon started to feel the same.
After the archers, the warriors started to feel the same.
This feeling...
It was as if Lord Alduin itself was there.
Every time Black Miraak took a step, it was as if the world wanted to expel him.
Like a virus.
Blackish and greenish smoke started to appear around Black Miraak.
Seeing the direction he was walking, Arnora almost snapped her bow in half in fury.
After all, the direction he was walking was toward her daughter's and Sigurd's childhood friend.
Asa Stormcloak.
...
In Sigurd's mind.
"Stop!! No!!" Sigurd shouted desperately.
Black Miraak turned around toward him and stared at him sarcastically while saying, "... Look at yourself."
"... Weak."
"... You can't protect her."
"... Not only from others. But from yourself."
Gritting his teeth in desperation, Sigurd started to struggle more and more.
"..." Black Miraak just glanced at the struggle bored and turned to the screen again.
...
No one could move.
Pure pressure.
Black Miraak was already in the middle of the plaza, walking in the middle of all the warriors in the village.
He was walking as if they were just children, paralyzed in front of an adult.
Arnora trembled more and more in rage.
She was going to leave a strange man going near her daughter? Her child?
Although Black Miraak's pressure wasn't a joke, Arnora was starting to leave it slowly.
As Black Miraak was about to leave the plaza and enter the location of the tents, uncountable arrows started to rain on him.
There were so many arrows that the snow made a huge fog around Black Miraak's location.
As a pair of eyes appeared in the fog, it could see Arnora on her knees painting tired as two battleaxes were already almost on his nose.
"TIID KLO UL." Black Miraak said with his absolutely disgusting voice.
The world slowed down, almost stopping.
The falling snow slowed down, almost stopping.
He could see hundreds of Arrows already coming toward him.
Numerous warriors running toward him with their weapons ready to thrust.
And two warriors slashing their battleaxes toward his head.
Seeing the world so calm.
So static.
Black Miraak looked at their faces.
Desperation.
Fear.
Determination.
For what, he didn't know.
He didn't care.
Turning around, he slowly walked to Stormcloak's tent.
In the frozen world, his boot steps were the only sources of sound.
As he entered the tent, the world finally returned to normal.
Asa was sleeping loudly on her bed.
Unaware of anything.
As Black Miraak slowly walked to her, he conjured a sword.
...
In Sigurd's mind.
"No... Stop!!! No!!!!!!!!" Sigurd screamed in desperation watching the scene unfold.
The blackish light was already on his stomach, slowly engulfing him.
No matter what Sigurd did, he couldn't leave.
The Black Miraak didn't even glance at him.
He just raised his right hand.
...
In Stormcloak's tent.
As Black Miraak raised his right hand holding the conjured sword, he stared at the sleeping Asa.
Long forgotten memories reappeared in his mind as he slowly closed his blackish eyes.
His time together with her.
His adventures with her.
And... her ****.
Finally, he slashed.
He slashed with all his strength.
The sooner he killed her, the less 'good' memories he would have, making him more focused in power matters in the future.
That is what the Black Miraak thought.
But, he was surprised.
Because his sword didn't penetrate Asa.
It penetrated a Maid.
The Stormcloak's maid, Yrsa.
As the sword penetrated her heart, Yrsa coughed a mouthful of blood.
The sound of flesh being cut made Asa wake up.
As she opened her eyes, she saw a scene she thought would never happen.
A scene she would remember for the rest of her life.
She was stunned and petrified in terror and confusion as Yrsa's blood squirted on her face.
"... Ugh..." Yrsa groaned in **** pain as she coughed more and more blood.
But, she grabbed Black Miraak's hand firmly.
No matter what, she wouldn't let it go.
"... Go! Run!" Yrsa shouted at Asa.
Seeing no reaction, she turned around again.
"GO!" Yrsa shouted louder at Asa.
Standing up in fear and confusion, Asa, who was only 5, started to run outside of the tent.
Black Miraak didn't even try to block her.
He just stared at the situation in amazement.
After all, it really didn't matter to him.
Asa, Arnora, Aron, Vigot, Etc... were already dead in his eyes.
It was just a matter of time.
Staring at Yrsa's eyes, Black Miraak saw something quite peculiar.
Certainly, there was fear and confusion.
But... There were determination and love.
Like a mother wanting to protect her child.
Finishing staring at her, Black Miraak put his left foot on her chest and kicked her off his sword.
"... Ugh..:" Yrsa coughed blood as she was kicked to Asa's bed.
Yrsa said nothing, she just stared at the tent's entrance.
Seeing Asa nowhere to find, Yrsa smiled and closed her eyes, breathing for the last time.
Glancing at her for the last time, Black Miraak was about to turn around and leave when he heard something.
"Yol Toor Shul!" Various streams of fire rained on the tent and on Miraak.
Various Dragons arrived at Stormcloak.
After all, they heard a human shout.
It shouldn't be possible!
That human can't stay alive!
As they arrived, they immediately spat fire on the tent with the human.
As the snow fell and thunder strikes fell amid the tempest, the dragons continued spitting fire.
The scene was so chaotic yet... beautiful.
Power.
It was a powerful scene.
Among the Dragons that arrived earlier and one that didn't even bother to spit fire, was a pure black dragon.
He was flying, observing the situation.
As the dragons finally stopped spitting fire, they observed the huge destruction.
Searching for anything alive, they started to glare at it.
But, soon, they felt something.
All the dragons.
All Atmorians.
All of them raised their face.
There he was.
Levitating under the moon, casting a shadow under all creation.
Blackish and greenish smoke around his body, he glared at the world.
As more and more smoke left his body, he just glared at all of them.
Becoming more and more transparent, he disappeared with the night.
...
In Sigurd's mind.
As the screen closed, Black Miraak said to the almost absorbed Sigurd, "Struggle all you want. You will become me... As I'm you and You're me."
"Just like I will absorb you, I will absorb 'Him', when he wakes up... No matter how much time it will take..." He continued as he slowly disappeared to the deepest part of the mind.
