Chapter 10 by TheTruePenguin TheTruePenguin

Scene Change?

Act 1, Scene 2

You'd barely stepped into the lodge when Matt was in your face, pointing a finger at you accusingly.

"Stay away from Emily, man!" He ordered, fire in his eyes as you stared back, nonplussed.

"What are you even talking about?" You queried, pushing Matt's finger away with surprisingly little effort.

"I saw you two in the woods, so stay away from her and keep your hands to yourself!" It seemed despite the deterrent of pushing him away, Matt was still steaming, not that you cared.

"Obviously you didn't or we wouldn't be having this conversation," You had to resist the urge to smirk at the double entendre. "Besides, I'm the one who walked away because it was causing problems, Em came after me, so if you want to get pissed at somebody why don't you try this tough guy routine with her." You finished, brushing past Matt as you entered the living room of the lodge, immediately falling on to the couch next to Jess, who cuddled in against you.

"So, what was that about?" Jess whispered as she laid her head on your shoulder.

"Just Matt trying to act like he's the boss of me, he's so insecure that he thinks Em's cheating on him." You muttered, turning your head as your lips met Jess's.

"Well too bad for her, you're all mine now." Jess replied between kisses as she climbed into your lap.

"Gross, are you trying to suck his face off?" Speaking of the devil, she had a look of genuine irritation and judging from Matt's slightly cowed look in the background, he probably took my advice and challenged her, only to get on the wrong side of one of Em's tirades.

"Oh please, could you be anymore jealous? Newsflash, you're out, I'm in." Jess, said, spinning around before standing, her eyes locked on Em's with an equal look of irritation.

"Jealous? Oh yeah, it's all a big fight for him, congrats, you're top dog." Emily spit back.

"Ha, cuts real deep calling Miss Homecoming a dog." Jess said simply.

"I'm sorry, I meant bitch, like a chihuahua, a little yappy bitch!" Emily shot back as Jess stomped her foot in annoyance.

"Real original one there Em, did get it at the thrift shop with the rest of your outfit?" Jess exclaimed.

"Thrift shop, this top alone probably costs more than you could make selling yourself!" Em seemed really incensed now that Jess had insulted her clothes, but the blonde wasn't backing down.

"Puh-lease, this body is a work of art!" Jess spat out, tracing the contours of her body.

"Yeah, just like a Picasso." Emily said simply, pressing her chest against Jess's, a smug look of superiority on her face as she saw the confusion cross Jess's mind. You decided to intercede... by throwing gas on the fire.

"Can you two hurry up and kiss already." You exclaimed calmly as both girls turned on you, equally red, for opposite reasons.

"Shut up you chauvinistic pig!" Emily snarled as Jess, looked ready to come to your defense, but you'd already entered the fight.

"I'd worry about you **** on all those big words, but I know you're accomplished in that department." You were the one calmly throwing barbs now as Emily went crimson, whether from rage or embarrassment, before deciding to take a swing at you.

Well, swing was a bit of an overstatement, it was a slap, a tried-and-true weapon in an girls' arsenal, and while Emily had undoubtedly slapped someone before it didn't change the fact that she was a verbal fighters first, leaving you with plenty of time to dodge the wide slap coming in... not that you did.

The slap echoed inside the lodge, all occupants, who'd been locked on the growing spat in the center of the room, now eyes wide at the first sign of physical aggression. Which was apparently what Jess was waiting for as you saw her grab Emily from behind and sling her to the ground, jumping on top of her and go for the second weapon in any girls arsenal, the classic opening move: the hair pulling.

"Meow, cat fight." You said with a smirk as Josh finally interceded, fine with the fighting so long as it stayed verbal.

"Hey, break it up!" Josh's voice carried inside the big mostly empty lodge. "I brought you all here so we could have a fun weekend, maybe have some laughs, make a movie or two for posterity sake, I don't want a fight!" Josh huffed, and knowing what was coming, you smirked at the hidden meaning in his words, thankfully, you managed to hide said smirk beneath the false appearance of nursing the red mark on your face.

"Here Mike, I got you and Jess the keys for the guest cabin, it's a decent ways away so don't worry about disturbances." Josh said, holding out the keys.

Do you comply?
