How do the games go?

Neck and Neck

Emily has to admit that she was very excited about the looming bet. Her and Beck has taken to daily trash talking the next two days going into the thanksgiving games. Things like: ‘You really gonna start him at TE? If you wanted to go streaking you could’ve just said so.’ Or ‘I hear that there is a full moon Monday night. With that lineup it looks like it’ll be right over my apartment building at around 11:30.’

It had always been Emily’s family tradition to watch football with her dad and brothers after they ate Thanksgiving lunch but she had never been so invested cheering on the members of her fantasy team. Her Dad was very disgruntled as she continually woke him up from his snooze and finally announced he was going to bed as Emily cheered as her starting defense scored a pick 6 to seal a shutout victory in the night game and to give her a commanding lead in her matchup with Beck.

As her two older brothers teased her about her sudden enthusiasm Emily took to the trash talk again.

‘So you wanna just go ahead and get it over with now or...’

‘Lol relax there Red. I only had one person play today. I’ll more than close the gap on Sunday.’

Emily went to bed feeling confident and enjoyed gloating in her lead over the next two days prior to the Sunday games. Though as she watched on Sunday her heart started to beat alittle fast. She had two players leave their games early with injuries and after a 5 TD performance on Sunday Night football she found herself losing to Beck by 6 points.

Nervously she checked her the lineups again even though she had committed them to memory at this point. All of Beck’s players had played and all Of Emily’s hopes rested on Her kicker on Monday Night. She breathed a sigh of relief. 6 points for a kicker was really doable. She only needed him to kick two short field goals and an extra point for her to win.

‘Well well well looks like all your hopes are resting on the leg of a man with a 79% FG percentage in his career. I feel pretty good about my chances.’ Beck texted immediately after the conclusion of the Sunday night game.

Emily was hardly able to focus at work on Monday. She spent the entire time checking game previews to try and ease her anxiety about what kind of chances her Kicker was going to get. During the day Emily and Beck agreed to go and watch the game at local bar and then afterwards Uber to the winners residents to pay up on the bet. They didn’t make any plans for what would happen after but to be honest Emily hadn’t thought that far ahead. She was mostly just concerned with not losing.

What’s next?
