Mnemosyne's Order

My name is Leon. I always took pleasure in reading amateur online books from a popular site i often visited, i even wrote some "books" myself, at least a few chapters before giving up.

As the years passed, i realised my love for reading was decreasing. I decided to just download one last book, and then i'd just erase my account on this site.

You can see how many people downloaded a book on this site, you can even make your book disappear from the site after a defined number of downloads, i don't know why this function was added in the first place.

I decided that my last reading will be one that nobody ever read yet. I filtered the results and I came across a book entitled "The Last Knight of the Order".

"Perfect ! My last reading will be some teenage text, with a title i guess was used a hundred times before ! But fine ! That brings me back to the good old times."

I downloaded it and it disappeared instantly. Deleting it after one download ? I guess the writer was afraid of bad comments. A teenager, like i said. Maybe a kid.

I started reading it.

Hello, i'm the last alive member of the Mnemosyne's Order, but not for too long.

I've been uncovered, so this will be my last action. Whoever you are, i grant you the power to rule this world. Read the following chapters, and be careful, cameras are your worst enemies.

I'm a very open minded guy, so i thought "hey, gonna give it a try, maybe i can finally have some luck".

I read the first chapter, it was written that i needed to start doing useless and senseless movements in front of someone, and never answer if that someone tried to understand why i was doing that.

So, day after day, i gesticulated in front of my family. Obviously, they mocked me a lot, even filmed me, but i didn't care about them anyway, they're just people i live with.

By doing so, people's mind will assimilate that what you're doing is not important, not worth trying to understand. Ask for something, they will just give it to you without trying to think about it. Like the nose right in front of their eyes, you will disappear. You can make them notice you by talking to them.

I really was hoping all of that was true, so after the number of days the books prescribed, i finally tried.

"Mom, give me your phone, i want to delete all the videos you took of me."

She just gave it to me, and i did so. But that wasn't enough for me to believe my actions had disappeared. I went to my father and told him to throw away all of his cigarettes, and to my surprise, after hesitating for some seconds, he just did !

I then tried a lot of things in my house, i asked things nobody would normally do, but my words where obeyed without a question, my actions were ignored. I now had a great power.
