Unsthalas ( 2 ) ( Main Story )

"So, she brought new assistants or what?"

Suddenly, the door of the guest room opened and a child Snow Elf appeared, smirking like a fool.

"Another attendant here to lick my sister's boots, huh. Good job." The child said as he slowly walked over and seated next to Aumriel.

The entire Aumriel was staring at him, like a tiger glaring at its prey.

"Come on, aren't you goi-" He started talking but a hard slap on the back of his head interrupted him.

"Sis-!?" He said but was interrupted again by another hard slap.

"I'm deeply sorry by my brother's inadequate behavior, Mister Miraak," Aumriel said in a respectful tone.

Since she didn't know how powerful he is and knew only that he was stronger than her, an Adept Mage, then she is being extremely respectful.

The entire time, Miraak was amused by the situation.

After all, the child is exactly that, a child.

Seeing his sister so respectful toward them, the child was stunned and said, "Why are doing this? Aren't they just children from some savage?"

Asa, that was hearing until now, couldn't control herself anymore.

"Shut up!... You Piece of... Bastar-..." She started shouting at him.

After all, she was a child too. And hearing another child 'cursing' at her friend made her furious.

Seeing the two entering a heated 'conversation', Miraak and Aumriel just sighed.

"I always forget you're a child too... I feel like you're way too mature by your age." Aumriel said smiling at Miraak.

"... Let's go down to business." He suddenly said seriously.

"... What is it?" She responded seriously too.

"I need a 'Permission Letter' to enter Orfarion," Miraak said to her.

"... I won't ask how you know this name... but..." She said slowly and continued soon after.

"... You know that we're not allies yet, right?" Aumriel said coldly.

Nodding to her, he heard her continuing.

"And you know that you're asking a Permission to enter a city of a Non-Ally empire, right?" She continued frowning.

Seeing him nodding again, she smirked and said, "Fine... But in one condition."

"I won't take the troublemaker child along." Miraak suddenly said with a deja-vu feeling.

"... It wasn't that... I want you to win the Frozencaller Tournament. It's a series of duels between Ice Mages to know the current limit on the Ice Spells." Aumriel said glaring at him weirdly.

Sighing, he asked, "When and where?"

Smiling like she won something, Aumriel took out a map and pointed at Rifton, where Riften would be in the future.

"The Tournament changes location every time it happens. This year is on Rifton. A city built on the shores of the lake, southeast from here and very far away." Aumriel said as she described how to get there through this map.

"What is the reward for the winner?" Miraak asked curiously. After all, if it could be beneficial to him, why would he refuse.

"The winner, huh..." She said pondering. Soon, she shook her head and said, "... It's a secret. Just focus on winning."

Giving the map and a letter to enter the Tournament to Miraak, Aumriel glared at him for some seconds before sighing.

"It's gonna start in around a week... So it's better if you leave. The sooner the better." She said and continued soon after, "Let's go, Nirilor."

Seeing Aumriel leaving with her younger brother, Nirilor, Asa asked Miraak, "Are we leaving? This place... something is off about it."

Asa's sense of danger was something Miraak was quite fond of, so he said as he left the castle, "We don't need to do anything here anymore. Let's go."

...

As the duo was leaving the city, Miraak could feel they were being followed.

"Miraak, there are-..." Asa said but she was interrupted.

"I know. Trust me." He said relaxed as if it was part of his routine.

As they left the city and camped outside for the night, Miraak felt presences surrounding the camp.

"Looks like they couldn't wait anymore." He murmured to himself as he sighed.

'Let's test it out... shall we?' Miraak thought as he closed and opened his fists.

...

Outside Miraak's and Asa's camp, a group of around 10 Snow Elves soldiers was slowly surrounding it.

"Are you sure it's gonna be okay?" One of them asked the nearest soldier.

"We have orders from th-..." He wanted to respond but was interrupted by something.

A child punch.

When the soldiers saw the child punching the soldier, they thought it was useless.

After all, it was just a punch.

But, they were wrong.

On the child's hands were gloves glowing reddish runes.

As the child punch impacted the soldier's right cheek, the runes glowed redder and redder as if wanting to engulf all colors in the world.

Finally, an explosion occurred.

The explosion was so great that the around snow melted and became a thick white fog.

...

As the Captain of the group was confused, he heard shouts from all directions by his soldiers.

"Enemy Attack! Ene-..:" One soldier shouted before being interrupted by another explosion.

"... No!! St-..." Another soldier screamed as he was blown to ashes.

"... Please!! N-...!" Another soldier begged for his life but was blown to ashes.

The Captain could only see shapes in the thick fog.

A Child punching his soldiers to ****.

Every time an explosion occurred, the thick fog became thicker and thicker.

In the end, the Captain could only hear the begging without knowing when or where.

Finally, silence descended in the thick fog.

The snow blew on his cheeks, the fog became reddish and blackish from the slaughter.

The Captain couldn't hear. He couldn't see. He couldn't move.

He felt it.

**** was around him. Waiting.

Suddenly an arrow flew through the reddish fog toward his armor.

'... Arrow?' He thought as repelled it with his sword.

But, he didn't see it, again.

The arrow's head was glowing in reddish runes.

Only when he already parring the arrow, he did see them.

'... Runes?' He thought. That was his final thought as flames engulfed his entire body.

...

"... These arrows... You're amazing! You already know magic!!" Asa complimented Miraak as they left the battlefield.

Before the battle began, he explained to Asa that he was being trained on the Arcane before becoming a Dragon Priest.

With Asa's simple mind, she believed him and didn't ask any bothersome questions.

Soon, they were long gone.

...

As Aumriel walked on the Castle's corridors, soon she arrived at a beautiful decored white door.

Glaring at the door, her eyes became more and more determined.

Knocking on it with a strange-looking staff, she said, "I, Aumriel Sylrell, Princess of Unsthalas, desire to speak with Elnaril Sylrell, King Of Unsthalas."

As she finished speaking, the door opened and revealed an Ancient-looking Elf sitting on a throne.

Walking near and bowing, Aumriel said seriously, "Father, I recommended a friend to the Frozencaller Tournament."

"..." The Ancient-looking Elf just glared at her.

Soon, he slowly opened his mouth and said, "... Are you ready for the consequences?"

"..." Aumriel slightly trembled but soon said, "... Yes, Father."

As the room's door closed, if someone passed by, they could see their King slowly standing up and taking out a Branding Iron nearby.

...

As Aumriel was being taken away by the Maids and Assistants, they soon closed the door again.

Glaring at the mountains, Elnaril Sylrell, King Of Unsthalas, heard a voice behind him.

"... Looks like you're enjoying yourself." A feminine voice said with strange spider sounds behind it.

Not responding, the King just glared at the mountains more fiercely.

"... It's the right thing to do." The feminine voice continued saying in his ears.

Finally, as the voice was disappearing, she said, "... They're savages... They deserve it..."

Although he didn't respond, the King's glare became fiercer and fiercer.
