Hephaestus (The Forge God)

The child of Zeus and Hera. Some would say it was Hera’s child alone, but this was false. Zeus would never wholeheartedly show love or care to such an imperfect creation. Hephaestus was born crippled in his legs and was not as beautiful as the Olympian gods and goddesses amongst him, and they’d laugh and mock him because of it. Hated by Hera it led to him being thrown from the great mountain of Olympia itself.

It was said he fell for an entire day before falling into the ocean. Eventually, he was found by Thetis and one of her 50 nereids, Eurynome an oceanid. He was cared for and hidden from the world. Hephaestus stayed with them for a time working as a smith for nine years in the hollow of a cave. Surrounded by the streams of Oceanus, protected by its foams and murmurs. No other gods and mortal man knew where he hid, except Thetis and Eurynome.

Here he receives a gift in his dreams. The omnipresent being that spoke to him of a great power. One that could change his fate and the timeline ahead itself!
