An anxious Makoto

(chapter originally by MidnightWisher on writing.com)

With that in mind, Ann pushed through the door to be greeted the sight of an anxious Makoto, biting her lip and hugging her stomach. The second her foot crossed the threshold into the hallway, Makoto’s eyes darted up to her, an eager look in her eyes. “Did you find it?”

Ann shook her head, “No, sorry, Makoto,” she said, seeing her friend instantly deflate. “Maybe it fell under the seats in front of us or something? We can look for it again when the movie is over, though. I’m sure it’ll be easier to spot with the lights on.” Makoto simply nodded her head. Ann put her unsoiled hand on her friend’s shoulder. “Cheer up, it’s not a big deal. People go braless all the time,” Makoto’s face instantly turned pink as she checked to make sure no one was around to hear that and whispered a “Not so loud!”. “Besides, it’s completely unnoticeable, really,” Ann insisted. She honestly hadn’t checked if it was noticeable, but it was better to tell her it wasn’t, if only to calm her down.

“Are you sure?”

“I’m positive,” Ann said with a warm smile. “Now, I don’t know about you, but I really need to wash my hand, those floors were disgusting,” she laughed. “After that, though, we could get a little snack or check out the arcade or something to clear our heads for a little bit before we head back to the movie,” she suggested.

“That… sounds good,” Makoto agreed, following Ann’s lead. It wasn’t long before the two girls found themselves in the theater restroom, Ann coating her hands in copious amounts of soap and Makoto standing next to her, leaning against the countertop, focusing on calming down.
