Chapter 10
What do you do next?
Back to work, I guess.
I took a few more minutes to be sure she would be gone before I returned to the front counter. The manager, Hank, looked pissed.
"There you are. What the hell happened back there? Sarah just quit, looking like some kind of whore, and here you are, somehow in the middle of it. We've been short while you two have been doing who-knows-what back there." He eyed me suspiciously, easily guessing what had been happening.
I sighed and put my apron back on without a response. Sarah was definitely upset. As far as I knew, this has been her only job, and since her parents cut her off, she'd been working overtime to keep up with her expensive lifestyle.
I was glad that I had given myself her phone number, but otherwise I had no way to contact her. It occurred to me that I might never see her again.
Why did that make me so sad? She'd been fun, sure, but she was a bitch. A person again, she was no fun at all. I was better of without her. I could find another TRAP'ed plaything. Shouldn't be that hard.
That got me thinking about how it all worked. Twenty four hours. Wait a minute. I looked at the clock. 3:15 pm. Sarah was still here, working at that time. She didn't meet her boyfriend until, like, six.
My hands stopped, hovering over the cups I had been absentmindedly restocking. She was here. I looked around the store, trying to recall details from the day before. Then it hit me. Hank had taken her into his office after she'd been rude to a customer. Just before three.
My blood ran cold as I put together the pieces. Sarah needed this job. Hank knew that. He had technically had grounds to fire her. He didn't. And sometime in the midst of that conversation, she had swallowed cum. Those were the facts.
That bastard.
What I did to Sarah, I had done to a defenseless thing with ****, not a poor **** girl with no options. It was something completely different. It didn't necessarily make any sense, but it was completely true. That mattered to me.
I stared at Hank, who was standing a little too close to the new girl, hired just a few days earlier. He had never tried anything with me, so I hadn't really noticed, but he was a total creep.
Suddenly I didn't feel like working for him anymore, either.
How to deal with this?

Pick a group to TRAP, choose a character, explore the new world order
At some point in the progression of human history, we became fundamentally good and fair. Just, and kind. Everything was perfect. Or at least, it should have been. Somehow, things didn't work out as well as hoped. Fate loves to play her games, after all. One day, the rules just changed. There was no rhyme or reason for it. Everyone just accepted the new way of things without question.
