A hero's homecoming

With empty roads surrounding you, you take to your newly acquired motorcycle and race towards home. The abandoned cars pose little resistance as you easily avoid them, skirting through small gaps that a car wouldn't manage. On the way back you spy more infected wandering in the destroyed buildings and a few even trailing out onto the road. Your earlier trip past must've roused their interest to lure them outside.

You take to the wrong side of the road as you leave the city as the open motorway is still blocked by a barrage of cars. No surprise there Michael, not like tow trucks are running right now. With a large smile you speed on past the crash at the front of the blockage. Despite yourself, your mind wanders as a knot forms in your stomach. We need to prepare more. That big infected will be a major issue if we're not careful.

You drive back on autopilot as you think of different strategies that might work. And then we've got people attempting to **** other people already. You shake your head. Technically he was gonna use that lube shit, so more like mind controlled **** sex? Not the point. I need to make sure I understand exactly what it is and how to deal with it and let everyone else know about it.

Before you know it you're back home. The bike purrs as you slow down and wait for the gate to open. You drive slowly over the courtyard and take 'your' bike down the the garage. You let out a sigh of relief when you see the SUV you took completely fine. You park up next to the work bench in the back of the room to then make your way upstairs.

Racing footsteps slam downstairs as you make it to the ground floor. "Michael!" Lucy cries happily. She leaps from halfway up the stairs still and into your surprised arms. "Are you hurt? How was the city? See anything cool? Did you get me anything special? Next time can we go?"

"One question at a time sis." You hug her tightly, letting the knot unwind. For now, we're safe.

"Sorry, sorry. I really want to know! Especially because I wasn't allowed to join you." She steps back with a pout as she looks over your shoulder. "I'll let everyone else know you're here. Come join is in the living room once you're ready. Bella said she wants to debrief you or something silly." Lucy skips past you and down the hall to where a cute short-haired red-headed girl stands with glowing red cheeks. Lucy whispers into her ear causing her to squirm.

As you're about to call over to her and split them up, another captivating voice distracts you to your side. "Michael welcome back." Heather coos. "How's my new hero?" You reluctantly pry your face away from Sam and turn to face Heather, she's added a short skirt and long black thigh-high socks to the long t-shirt she was wearing.

"I'm-" You gulp as the brunette vixen saunters closer. "Good." Her innocent hazel eyes betray the smirk along her full lips.

"Good is good. I'm good too." Her hand rests on your shoulder and slowly travels her fingers down the length of your arm. "Nice jacket. Looks very... Sexy." She bites her lip. You can't help yourself as your cheeks glow.

"Oh, uh, yeah... It's um. Old..." FUCK! She giggles at your blank-mindedness.

"You going to tell us all about it now? With everyone?" You nod, not trusting your mouth anymore. "Come on then, I'm pretty sure Bella is fuming from worry right now." She takes your hand and drags you to the living room. Sam is no longer stood waiting.

You enter the room and everyone stares in silence at you. You spot Hina sitting on the couch looker shades paler than normal, no doubt because of Bella. Speaking of which... "What was the only things I told you to do Michael?" She stomps over in her leather combat boots. Heather retreats to the side, leaving you to fend for yourself.

You shrug with a grin. "Uh, something like good luck and I'm your sister I always worry?" The room is deathly quiet that a pin being dropped could be heard. Her cool blue eyes bore down on you from above. Your grin falters.

"Literally everything I told you not to do you did!" Hands on her hips, she scolds you with everyone watching. "You faced off against them in a seriously risky manner, then you almost got killed and if it wasn't for... For... That who ever she was, you would've died! Not only that but after collapsing you faced of against a bigger group by yourself! What on earth were you thinking? How could you be so irresponsible!" Partway through her ranting she'd grabbed your jacket and pulled you closer as tears filled her eyes. Bella leans into your ear. "I don't want to lose you too..." She whispers.

"I'm- I can't be sorry. I did what I had to and what I thought was best at the time with limited options available. If I didn't then I don't know if we would've all got out." You give her a hug and whisper back. "But I made it back safely."

"I know..." Bella steps back and holds her arms while fighting back tears. "I know."

"While we're all here there's something I need to talk to you about..." You say aloud.
