Link laid in his bed at his house in Hateno Village. All his memories had returned, like how his house was actually his house 100 years ago. However, there was a set of memories that tormented him.
"Maybe when this is all over...We could spend some time together."
Mipha. His true love, and princess of the Zoras, chosen to become the Champion that would pilot the Divine Beast Vah Ruta. Unfortunately, 100 years ago when the Calamity happened, she was killed by Waterblight Ganon, an admittedly simple boss enemy that Link could have defeated 100 years ago to save her life.
But he couldn't. He was Princess Zelda's sworn knight. He couldn't leave her side.
That led to his ****, and his stasis in the Shrine of Resurrection for 100 years.
Now that Ganon was defeated permanently, everything was going back to normal.
Except that the rest of the Champions were dead. Forever.
Including his beloved Mipha.
"Link." He couldn't budge as Zelda walked up the stairs, noticing the picture on the drawer that they took not long after the ordination of the Champions.
She looked at it for a second, before turning to the depressed Hero of the Wild.
"I'm sorr-" Zelda was cut off by Link, who, for the first time in possibly 105 years, spoke to another person.
"It's not your fault, Zelda. I'm the idiot."
His voice was filled with agony, remorse, and selfhatred. "I'm the hero, but why would that matter? All these girls want me, but I don't want them. And, no offense, I don't have feelings for you either, Zelda."
Zelda sighed. "Yes, I'm aware."
"Mipha was the only girl I've ever loved... and she's dead."
Zelda sighed. "Link...I have something to show you."
