Chapter 32 by tailteller
Only time will tell
When morning comes
Sally didn't want to open her eyes. Her head hurt enough as is. She felt around herself, finding a couch and another person...had she slept with some poor loser on his couch? Fran's voice answered her question.
"Mornin'...that's my ass, you know."
Sally gave her best friend a playful squeeze and removed her hand. "Franny...why're we back at your apartment? You didn't...wait for me outside some dude's house, did you?"
Franny sighed. "No...and we're not at my place."
"Oh my god...we didn't..."
"No we didn't double up on a guy, either. What do you remember from last night?"
"...I think a fight? Some tall dark and buff guy?"
"That would be the bouncer that saved our lives."
"Oh...fuck."
"Yeah. The guy you picked turned into a group of assholes who wanted to take you into the bathroom."
"Shit. Why are we not at your place then?"
"One of the assholes got away before the cops showed. Bouncer said we should go somewhere safe that isn't home in case he follows so..."
Now it clicked. "Franny, you didn't..."
"Just...listen before you react okay? I'm here, I think it would be a very good time when you're tired and hungover, to talk this out without screaming."
"It was fucking. Yesterday."
"And from what you've both told me, he was taken advantage of just as much as you. I think the other woman probably played a bigger piece of making that happen...and I think you guys can still work out how to patch yourselves up before I have to watch you tear your heart out by disowning your own brother."
"I wouldn't-"
"Babe. You were about to let yourself get ganbanged in a bathroom over this. I don't think either of us knows where you'll end up if this doesn't get worked out."
Dammit....she's right. If they wait until they can talk about it they'll never talk again. Then their mother gets involved, and then it's all in the open, and who knows where it goes? "You're sure we'll be okay after?"
"Promise.", Fran said with a kiss on Sally's forehead. She slid away and into the kitchen. Sally heard her making coffee. Thank God...
Fran soon put down a couple of cups, and stayed standing. Sally **** herself to finally open her eyes. The light stung, and sitting up only made it worse. At least she had caffeine now. She gave a pitiful smile to Franny. "Thanks."
"There's just one more thing..."
Sally squinted at her. "...what?", she asked slowly.
Fran grabbed Sally's car keys and nearly bolted for the door. "I'm taking your car so you can't run, bye! Text me when it's okay! Love you!"
"Fran, no! Don't you da-", Sally cut herself off as the door closed. Great. That's great.
Well...
