“I didn't planed to,” you answer, “why do you ask? Do you want to go out with me?”

“W-what?” Mia asks shocked, “I .. I would never dare to … this would be … you are my master.”

“Good to know,” you say with a strict voice you fake perfectly, “don't forget your place. Otherwise I would have to punish you. A little time chained to the dungeon wall can work wonders.”

“I will not, sir,” Mia assures you in panic, “you are a noble. I am just a poor servant. And a half elf. I would never dare to see myself as a proper girlfriend for you.”

“You may be a half elf, but you are a sweet one,” you say cheeky, “it's a shame for the jailer. He sure would love to get your cute bubble butt in his hands.”

“I … are you joking with me, master?” Mia asks and finally shows you a little smile, “you make jokes about me tied up in a dark dungeon with a guard to grope me?”

“I do,” you admit grinning, “but don't worry. If I would have to punish you I would keep all the fun for myself. But back to your original question. I like the idea of traveling a bit but sadly I can't. I want to stock up the supplies in the castle. If we have to defend us I want as much innocent civilians as possible in the castle where they are save. But we need food, water, arrows and medical supplies to hold out as long as possible. Of course this would not matter if the dark horde conquers the castle.”

“I … I see, sir,” Mia says disappointed and her smile vanishes, “I appreciate you care so much for your subjects. Do you mind if I leave you, master. I have some … things to do.”

Mia stands up and turns away. Her voice is sad and you believe she will cry the moment she leaves the room.

“Sure,” you say and caress her leg, “take your time. And don't worry. The next time I travel I would be glad if you join me.”

“I ...” Mia begins and shivers heavily, “I have to go. I am sorry, my lord.”

The she runs away. You look after her confused. There is not much to do anymore. You finish breakfast and go to your new work.
