Chapter 63 by tailteller

Nearly 9pm now, James had occupied himself with finding a game they could play to get to know each other. Something fun. He'd found out through searching that carbonated drinks had a similar effect on Novaxans as alcohol did on humans. A drinking game would be a great ice breaker. The two women came out to find him setting up the game. His phone had a random question generator, and they each had a glass of cola. Naturally, his and Sally's had vodka inside.

Sally cocked an eyebrow. "What's all this?"

James had been about to answer when he noticed Aurora wipe away a tear. "It- Hey...you okay?"

Aurora smiled, shimmering a deep blue. "Yeah...thanks. What is this all for?", she echoed Sally's question.

"I thought, now that we can all communicate, we could play a game and get to know each other. All of us have drinks to get a little drunk, and we drink each time we don't want to answer."

Aurora flickered blue, glancing at the table. "If I understand "drunk" correctly...would that not make us more likely to answer things we normally would not?"

Sally smiled and flipped down on the couch. "That's the point! That way we all get to know each other better!" James gave a nod. Sally patted the couch next to herself. "C'mon, you can sit here with me."

James smiled, "Good talk, I take it?"

Sally smiled and wrapped an arm around Aurora as she sat next to her. "Yep! And completely confidential. No asking about it."

James raised his hands in the air, "Okay, alright. Noted...if anything related to it comes up just take a drink."

Sally blew a raspberry at him, "Fuck ya, if anything related comes up we're just picking a new question."

Aurora flickered purple and yellow, pulling away from Sally to stare at her. "That is a little much, right? Or...are you two...?"

Sally gave her a confused look for a few seconds. "What? Oh, the f...oh, OH NO, God no."

"You two aren't...romantic?"

James let out a deep, droning, "Woooaaah, no. Very no, we're siblings."

Aurora glanced at them, and flickered white and green. When Sally nodded, Aurora shifted into a bright blue. Sally gave her a teasing smile, bringing out a lavender tint to her cheeks. Aurora grabbed her soda, "Let's play already."

James glanced at them, completely lost. "...Okay. Who starts?"
