Another day in Paradise

The small town wakes up slowly from the hunting night. Fat Phil, sheriff deputy in charge of the night dispatch, is writing his report. Fat Phil is obviously not his name and nobody would dare use this tender nickname in front of the temperamental police officer, but that is how he is known around town. He is a bit surprised, he got three calls reporting a noise disturbance on Elm street and four more calls from citizens reporting missing relatives. As far as he can recall the night dispatch never got these many calls. He shrugs, the sheriff will deal with it, he has to go home and get some rest.

At the Sinclair’s everybody is still asleep. After hunting night, which happens generally two to three times a week, nobody wakes up before noon. The rest of the time, the family tries to keep a rhythm similar to their preys’. It makes blending in much easier.
