Into the volcano, part 3: The folly of Lizardmen

They continued along the passageway for approximately ten more minutes before they finally saw a brightly lit room. As they approached the smell of sulfur and smoke grew stronger within the air. Within this room were three opened jail cells, the maw of the volcano, and roughly thirty lizardmen, listening to a slightly larger, red scaled, lizardman, adorned with a colorful feathered headdress. Lex carefully looked around the room and noticed a huge lizardman beside the hidden passageway's entrance, leaning against the wall. Oddly enough, that lizardman was soundly sleeping. He continued to look around the room and noticed a rather cute female cyclops helping out a couple of lizardman. As they worked, he used Observe on her and the red scaled, lizardman.

Lex was surprised to find out that Philinna was who they were looking for. Although, what she was doing currently was far more confusing. Why was she helping her captors? Were they forcing her to do it? His attention was drawn back to Red, who had just turned around, knocking several of his followers off the ridge and into the lava pit below with his tail. He turned back around before shrugging, continuing with whatever he was saying. Lex's eyes focused on the lava below, before glancing up. He saw four paths leading safely over the lava with a large circular opening at its center, reminding him of the cross sights from older video games.

Lex shook his head before looking back to Sazla, Divi, and his ghoul and said. "Do you think your ice patch will work here?" Sazla shook her head and said. "Not really. At best it will last for only a few seconds, but i doubt that'll be useful." He nodded before looking to Divi and said. "Do you think you can push those lizardmen into the lava with only a couple of seconds to work with?" Divi shook her head while pouting, but said. "I would have to be out there already, but I think they'd spread out too much by then, daddy."

Lex nodded as he tried to rethink the situation. Meanwhile, Philinna was looking down at a book and was obviously trying to show the lizardmen beside her what to do. However, when they attempted to do it, one of them was turned into a frog and hopped off the side to his ****. She cupped her hands over her eye and shook her head, quite frustrated by their failures. Lex was beginning to wonder just how dumb were these lizardmen? Even with her help they were failing horribly.

A few minutes later, Red had knocked another two lizardmen into the lava with his tail, prompting the others to back off for a little bit before moving closer once again. Lex couldn't help it as he started to laugh softly, causing the big lizardman by him to stir slightly. He felt a chill run through his body as the possibility of waking up this lizardman was very evident. He let out a sigh before looking to Sazla and said. "Okay, I am going to send my ghoul out into the middle of them and blow him up. That should cause all of them except the chieftain to fall into the lava. When that happens, I want you two to slit this big guy's throat. Leaving just one lizardman and the chieftain to take care of. Got it?"

Sazla and Divi nodded, Lex's ghoul was looking at them blankly. Lex nodded and said. "Okay, good. Get into positions." His ghoul started to walk out into the crowd of lizardmen while Divi and Sazla readied themselves to cut the big guy's throat. When his ghoul was in position, he cast Corpse explosion on it, causing the ghoul's body to expand twice before shattering into fragments of itself, all of the lizardmen around were sent flying, taking damage and sent into the lava pit below. - 50 Mp, 40 x 23 = 920 xp, Lizardman Scale x 11, Lizardman Meat x 6, 3.18 x 23 = $73.14

Sazla and Divi slit the throat of the big lizardman at the same time, killing him before he could wake. 50 xp, Lizardman Scale x 3, Lizardman Meat x 1, $3.75 Lex's Corpse explosion and the coprse nearby reduced Lex's next cast of Summon ghoul from 100 to 25 mana. 100 - 50% = 50, 50 - 50% = 25 Mp The big lizardman got up under Lex's control as a ghoul. However, both Divi and Sazla freaked as they saw the dead lizardman continue to move. Lex smiled and said. "Don't worry ladies, he is on our side now." They both let out a breath before their attention was drawn to Red as he yelled out. "Why!? Why you kill my lizardmen? Why, why, why!?"

Red's body shook as he growled, his tail slammed the thin ground underneath his feet over the lava pit, making minor cracks in it. This gave Lex an idea as he yelled out a reply. "What!? We didn't do a thing. Your lizardmen just fell off like idiots." Red's tail smacked the ground again hard, making even more cracks. "Lies! I will make you pay!" Lex looked to his ghoul and said. "Why don't you give your old boss a hug?" A dumb look over took the ghoul's face as he leaped from where he was, landing mere inches in front of Red and gave a hug, biting him, but its weight, plus Red's cracked the path the rest of the way, sending both the ghoul and Red to a magma filled grave. Three new exclamations flashed that he ignored for now as his quest turned itself in. 1,263 xp, $500.31, and Red's Scale

By this time, Philinna had knocked the final lizardman that had been beside her into the lava, shaking her head as she walked over to Lex, Divi, and Sazla and said. "I didn't expect anyone to come to my rescue. I was certain the titans had abandoned me." Philinna's M score shot up to 45. With Philinna so close, Lex could finally see how truly cute and beautiful she was. She had pink hair that ran down just below her ears, a lovely purple and pink eye, full lips, and a very small, but cute nose. She was wearing a dirty white shirt, brown leather overalls, brown leather gloves, and brown leather shoes. Even though she had muscular arms, it didn't detract from her feminine curves.

Divi and Sazla asked at the same time. "Are you the blacksmith that was in need of rescue?" Philinna was starting to blush, noticing how Lex was looking at her, but turned her attention to Divi and Sazla before replying. "Oh, yes, excuse my rudeness. I'm Philinna. May I please know my saviors names?" They introduced themselves and Lex explained the situation. After several minutes, Philinna nodded and said. "Ah, I understand. This knowledge is quite humbling. To know that the mother of all, Gaia, has sent you personally to aid us in these troubled times."

Philinna knelt down, her M score shot up to 100 as she lifted her right hand over her breast and said. "I, Philinna, Forge Master, and Blacksmith of the Titans from this day forth, am yours to command, Lex." Lex had a strange feeling that the title of Blacksmith of the Titans was not a simple boast. He offered a hand to her and said. "Please stand, Philinna. There is no need for you to be so humble within my presence." She looked to his hand, blushing once again. Her M score ticked up to 115 as she stood up, nodding slightly before looking to Divi and Sazla before saying. "I, of course, will do everything I can to aid you both as well."

Philinna looked back to Lex then down at herself, brushing off her clothing before saying. "I will need some time before I am ready to leave. I need to pack up my forge and tools before I can go anywhere. I am sorry, but this will require a few hours. I promise to be ready by then." He looked to Divi and Sazla then said. "I would like you two to help Philinna out as best you can. I have a promise to keep with Konqus." Divi and Sazla hugged Lex. Divi whispered into Lex's ear. "Okay. I'll miss you, daddy." Sazla held onto him a bit longer, nuzzling gently against him, but didn't say anything. After he said good bye to them. He started to walk towards that hidden passageway back to Konqus. While on his way, he let those three exclamations from before pop up.
