Speak to Tschau and learn about an unusual habit of hers

Tschau seemed determined not to get to know you before this mission began, but as her handler, you couldn't let that slide... not only because your mission was to learn things about her, but also, because it was just kind of rude of her. To start, you cleared your throat, then began to speak to her directly... you asked what she knew about Adder.

No response.

You clicked your teeth irritably. Was she really that unsociable, that she wouldn't speak to her handler, even when he was asking her for information directly pertinent to the mission at hand? Vaarvel grinned across the aisle at you just as silently, as though she knew some answer to the riddle of Tschau's silence, but wasn't going to let you in on it. Growing impatient, you grabbed the albino ninja's thin shoulder and shook it.

The sound of metal sliding against metal came next and suddenly, the ninja's eyes were locked with yours... more importantly, her ninjoto's blade was level with your neck, causing you to tilt your head up to avoid nicking yourself on the razor sharp edge. "Oh... It's just you. Don't startle a ninja."

Now thoroughly agitated, you told her that you just wanted to ask her about Adder. All you'd done was shake her shoulder!

The ninja lowered her somewhat thick, unusually white eyebrows, seeming as though she was frowning behind her mask. "... I forgot to tell you. I sleep with my eyes open some times. Don't ever startle me awake or I might cut your head off...In fact, don't touch me in general."

You'd never heard of anyone with such a thorough, animal-like ability to play dead while they slept... At any rate, Tschau was awake now, so you figured you might as well get an answer to your original question. You asked her to tell you if she knew anything about Adder that might help.

"Don't you already know about Adder? Seems like you're another hopeless guy after all, but fine... We Goodbye Girls know more about them than most." It could have been your imagination but it seemed sort of like she had perked up a bit... It was hard to say why, but at least you'd finally get a conversation out of her. "Adder is a criminal organization led by the masked man, Adder Adjutant. They're weapons dealers who sell to other terrorists, as well as mercs, paramilitary orgnizations, even the militaries of... to be honest, probably every nation, though to different degrees, depending on the risk they run of being found out. No one knows who Adder Adjutant is, but we know the identities of all sorts of others. They're the type who keep certain things very public, while keeping others annoyingly private..."

At the words annoyingly private, you stifled a chuckle at the expense of your two companions, each of whom wore a mask concealing over 50% of her face.

"... Don't laugh. I'm trying to teach you something." After scolding you, the small ninja closed her eyes thoughtfully and attempted to collect her thoughts so that she could summarize what you needed to remember. "... At any rate, the part you need to remember is that while they sell themselves as weapon dealers rather than perpetrators of attacks, Adder is more dangerous than nearly any organization on the face of the earth. That's because they finance everyone else's operations and sell to them. It is no understatement to say that if CEDIT every directly went after Adder, we could expect entire nations to jump to their defense. Still, we'd do it if we had the opportunity... but the best we can do is interrupting an operation like this. Don't ask for miracles... just do what you can, Ciao."

Those words stuck with you for a while... don't ask for miracles, huh? Maybe a super-spy and literal ninja could afford to say that, but given your assignment and your nature as, in your opinion, a normal human being, you really did need a miracle or two. You could ask for no less, if you were going to accomplish your ostensible mission as a handler as well as your covert mission as a saboteur of your own allies...
