"Look, I know you don't care about being a star so I'm going to put it in more concrete terms. Tanya needs to get out of her house. The situation there is bad."

Matt was pretty sure Tanya wouldn't have told even her best friend about her father **** her since she was seven but Natasha was smart enough to know that things weren't good there.

"Right now, making this streaming thing work is her best chance. But there are something like a million streams going on now. It's not like we've got a market leading position."

"Matt, are you trying to guilt me into fucking you on TV?"

"Uh, would it work?"

"No. Jeez, you have a girlfriend and you haven't like, even asked me out on a date."

"Yeah, I thought not. And Cindi isn't the jealous type."

"Right. You think I didn't see her kung fu moves at the dance Friday?"

"Look, she's right over there. You can ask her if you want. She's going to be on the show the hour after you and me. I'm not trying to sneak anything behind her back."

"What. I thought that was the whole point of these shows."

"The whole point of these shows is to make money. And you make money by teasing the sponsors, by hinting at what they're missing, by flashing rather than spreading. I spent a couple of hours yesterday analyzing who made the big tips and the ones who got paid the most showed the least."

"Well, hey. You'll be rich then because if I don't go on, you won't show anything."

"Ha ha."
