Jasper looked at the liquid. High quality champagne, and he knew it.

The kind he and his run down apartment could never afford.

The kind that cost more than his rent.

The kind brewed near exclusively for the wealthy upper class that never had to count out change on a table and hope it would be enough for that week's food.

The kind the other players drank but he could only imagine when he played at the casino with all he had scraped and saved on a bid to change his fortune with one lucky hand.

And here it was being offered to him.

He could feel his hand, nervously held to his chest, want to reach out and take it. To at least feel like, for one time in his life, he wasn't a nobody.

To taste a more comfortable life.

...All he had to do...was become a bride?

Jasper wasn't sure about that...but still his hand slowly rose and, slightly trembling, took the drink from him.

The man smiled, seemingly satisfied with Jasmine's 'reply', clinking his glass with the other in a toast.

"Then here's to you, my love."

Jasper was too distracted to properly notice, tenderly lifting his own glass to his mouth and sipping it.

It wasn't as strong as he was expecting, rather it went down somewhat smooth withsubtle undertones of fruity flavors.

Jasper couldn't help relaxing a bit and letting his red lips form a smile.

The man looked at his newlywed bride and for the first time, she smiled.

He tapped on the driver's window, who complied immediately, headed back for the reception.

The crowd from the chapel had all arrived and were eagerly awaiting the new couple's return.

There was so much Jasper wasn't sure about right now, but there was one thing he was sure of. He wanted to get out of the car before his new husband could seduce him with more of that ****.

This time when he offered, Jasper took his hand to lift himself and the dress's skirt out of the limo without flashing too much of his legs.

He had hoped the man would let go, but instead, once to his feet, the man had slid his other arm around Jasper's back, a gentle hold on his bride's hip.

Jasper decided to just try to ignore the man's hold on him and walked with him toward the steps to the building.
