The calm before the storm (End of Day 5)

Date: 20 March

Nothing much happened that day. Nothing out of the ordinary happened.

Nothing worth mentioning occurred at school, aside from when Selene casually commented about a rumor that she had heard, about a cheerleader from their school being a horny exhibitionist and taking risqué photos in cheerleading attire at a public park.

“Really? That’s crazy. Who would do such a thing?” Jade said in reply.

Other than that, the day went along like any other day. Well, like any other day before this whole deal with Jason, Jade thought wryly to herself.

Except for one thing. As a non-sequitur, back at home, Jade donned the cheerleader outfit again, looking at herself in a full-length mirror. “I really do look quite sexy in this...” Jade said out loud, even trying on different hairstyles like pigtails to compliment the outfit.

The day seemed to be on fast-forward, though. Like a YouTube video someone didn’t know they’d set to 2x speed, or a DVD that someone was speeding through to find their favorite scene.

Before she knew it, school ended, the day progressed, and she found herself sitting at her table at night, thinking about her anniversary date tomorrow with Mike.

The thought of a wonderful date with Mike drove almost all thoughts of Jason and his wicked deal out of her mind. Almost.

At his home, Mike was also looking forward to the date, promising himself that he and Jade would have a blast.

At the same time, Jason was also anticipating the date, for reasons obviously different to those shared by Jade and Mike. In preparation for Saturday, he’d held off on sex today, deciding to rest today so that he’ll be completely ready for his plans tomorrow. There was that phrase again; delayed gratification.

Jason grinned to himself. He’ll make sure 21 March will be a date he won’t forget anytime soon...
