Another Call

"Hello Carlson residence." Kathryn stated into the phone, a little annoyed at the two consecutive calls. If someone else called, she swore she'd answer "Grand Central".

"Hey Kate, just wanted to call and say we'll be there in about two hours. Everything's still cool right?" She heard Jasmine say over the phone.

"Hello Jas! Yes, everything is still cool here, in fact I'd like to know if you can teach and impromptu seminar."

"I'm game, as you well know. One sec. Kate wants to know if we'd be willing to teach a seminar on short notice."

Carissa's voice came over the phone, "She's kidding right? She has got to be kidding."

"You heard that Kate?"

"Yes...uh...she doesn't want to? I mean I know it's your day off and all but..." Kate asked worriedly, her heart sinking a bit.

"Calm down Kate. She's wants to. She meant why did you feel the need to ask such a question. We could have walked in the door with your house full of people and we'd have just asked for a glass of water and a dry erase board."

"Oh..okay. I love you guys. Tell Carissa it's for Courtney and her friends."

"It's for Courtney and..."

"Oh my God! I totally forgot, it's Courtney's birthday! We have to get her something!"

"Okay...Um she said..." Jasmine stated over the phone.

"I heard that loud mouth. I told her to be here with her friends at about three, so that gives you all enough time to pop into a store."

"Good idea...Courtney...is that your nephew's crush?"

"Yes, I've been trying to get him to ask her out for a while now, but he's afraid to. He doesn't want to lose the friendship, you know? And I know Courtney's mom has been trying to get her to ask him out...but I think she feels the same. So they'll be at the seminar."

"We'll be there...I'll get them together. Perhaps talk tot hem one at a time, you know. Anyhoo, I'll let you go back to deciding if you want to plan this out more or joining Bryan in the shower...and I bet the shower will win."

Kathryn sat up in her bed, "How did you..."

"Bryan and you are kinda predictable. Let's leave it at that. Later, love!" Jasmine said and hung up on a stunned Kathryn.
