"Ok. Jolene, then." I smiled and looked under the door. I didn't see anything, but I could hear them clearly. Neil was barking orders at security and they were taking off after me. Big guys, from the sound of their footsteps, though they may just be fat. Their stride was slow and short. Good news, since I can outrun a doughnut junkie any time. Hopefully Jolene could too.
I lay down on my stomach so I wouldn't miss when they went by, but they didn't come. They stopped a few doors down. Were they checking doors? Or were they trying to sneak up on us? Either way, they'd get here eventually and when they did, we needed to be somewhere else.
