"I wish I could just go talk to her," Donny says.
Before things get out of hand and noting you've kept Katy waiting for a bit, you speak up.
"I'll go talk to her for you Donny and see if she wants to come back and join us at our table," you offer. In your head, your plan is to offer to take her elsewhere.
As you approach the bar where you friend is drinking (and hasn't noticed you yet), you have another thought.
