Chapter 4

Are the three being genuine?

No

For the next couple classes before her free period, Nora was a completely different person. She couldn’t stop smiling, and almost wasn’t able to pay attention in class. All she could think about was how amazing it felt to have Connie and the others be nice to her.

When it was time for her to head over to see them at the gym, she even jogged, wanting to have as much time as possible. She walked in, and saw that the lights had been turned off.

“Hello?” Nora called. No response was given. “Maybe I’m to early.”

Suddenly she heard someone behind her. “Nonsense, you’re just in time.” The three former bullies walked in behind Nora. They all had party hats on, Rachael was holding a box of what Nora could only assume was a gift for her, and Sydney had a folding chair.

Connie walked forward, and put an arm around Nora’s shoulder. “Hope you’re ready to have the best birthday ever, cause we’ve got party games ready to go.”

Nora once again lit up, ecstatic to be with what she considered her new friends. Sydney turned the lights to the gym on, and the four moved to the center of the room.

“So, I know you’re probably dying to know what we have in the box, but we have one thing we need to do first.” Rachael said.

What is there to do first?
