As Katie was looking around the room, her heart sank as she spied Randy standing awkwardly against the wall. Randy was one of the technical specialists, and he seemed to have formed an intense preoccupation with Katie since she had started here. He was always showing up unexpectedly wherever she was or staring at her through his long greasy hair. Through the brief handful of awkward conversations that she'd had with him, it had become apparent (even to someone as naive as she) that he desperately wanted to have a more "intimate" relationship with her. While Katie tried to be generous with her thoughts, she had to admit that he grossed her out, a bit.

Not wanting to attract his attention, she wound her way through the crowd, saying hi to everyone as she went, and headed for the accounting offices. As she opened the door and looked inside, she was surprised to find it empty. Usually, there were at least a dozen people in here during business hours, so it was strange to see it abandoned. She wandered in, closing the door behind her as she examined the empty cubicles, doing a little bit of light snooping.

After a few minutes spent exploring the offices, Katie grew bored and turned to go back to the party. There, between her and the door, not five feet away from her, was Randy, his eyes staring at her through his dirty, black hair.

"Eeeeekk!" she screamed as she jumped in fright. "Randy!", She said putting her hand on her heart. "I didn't hear you come in, you scared me."

Randy just smiled in response, revealing yellowed teeth as he stepped closer to her. "Hello Katie."
