A moment longer with Caesar

Blair was fascinated by Caesar's growth rate. However, it wasn't long after they finished their meal that Caesar's growth came to a halt. She leaned down and over to gently rub Caesar's head with her left hand. He let out a soft bark while his tail wagged quickly. She decided to use Observe on him once again.

Blair smiled looking at Caesar and said. "You are so cute and such a good boy. Yes, you are." Before looking over to Yoshito and asked. "Why do you think Caesar stopped growing?" Yoshito chuckled and said. "There are two ways for a creature of the Abyss like him to grow. One, is by age. The other is by experience. So, you can let him grow up naturally or have him assist you in combat. He can do so by simply observing you or actually fighting. Out of the two, I suggest letting him observe until he is strong enough to defend himself."

Blair was nodding slightly when she noticed something interesting out of the corner of her eye. Caesar's portrait, health, and mana bar had appeared underneath her own. It reminded her of the bone dragon she had mind controlled before. However, Caesar's didn't have a timer. She gently clicked on Caesar's portrait and received a readout of his current abilities.

Caesar's Abilities:

Bite: Basic Attack. lvl x 5 = damage per strike.

(Unlocks at lvl 5) Cone of Frost: lvl x 10 = Damage per cast. Has a 25% chance to freeze those hit in place for 5 seconds. Range 3 yd from your mouth in a cone. Cost: 20 Mp. 10 second cooldown.

(Unlocks at lvl 15) Chilling Howl: lvl x 15 = Damage to enemies within a 20 yd radius. Has a 25% chance to freeze those hit in place for 10 seconds. Cost: 50 Mp. 1 minute cooldown.

(Unlocks at lvl 30) Spirit Mend: lvl x 20 = Health returned to target over 5 seconds. Effect is doubled when used on self. Range 30 yd. Cost: 100 Mp. 2 minute cooldown.

Blair was surprised by how much information she received from this. She picked up Caesar and hugged him gently. Caesar wiggled slightly, not expecting to be picked up, but tilted his head when he was close enough to her and licked Blair's cheek a couple of times before nuzzling his cheek against the side of her neck. She giggled and said. "It will be nice to have you with me, Caesar. I will make sure you get a lot of experience." She looked to Yoshito and asked. "Is there anything we can do about his fur color? I don't want Gaia to smite him." Yoshito nodded and said. "Hmm, there should be something we can buy off of the Abyss Auction to solve that. I will get one for him while you are taking your next trial."

She sighed softly as she thought about the next trial. This change in mood made Caesar whimper. However, when she began to perk up so did he. Blair smiled and said. "All right, I really should get back to it anyway." She set Caesar back on the ground before getting up from the table, taking the dishes to the sink and began cleaning them. "Will you be okay watching him for me? I don't know how long this next trial will take." Yoshito chuckled while bending down to pet Caesar's head and said. "I've taken care of pets before. I am sure we'll be fine. However, he will be anxiously awaiting your return."

Blair cleaned and dried her dishes while thinking about that and said. "I see. Caesar, be a good boy for Yoshito. He's a good man and deserves your respect." She glanced back to Caesar, who tilted his head, obviously confused, but yipped in reply. She giggled and dried her hands before looking to Yoshito and said. "Let's go. I think I've rested long enough." He nodded slightly before looking to Caesar and said. "Come on, Caesar. She meant both of us." Caesar's tail wagged rapidly as he began to follow them. As they walked towards the Zen Garden, a couple of questions ran through her mind. 'What will I find in the trial of passion? This'll be easy, right?'
