Chapter 27 by SimonLF SimonLF

Is EDNA unhelpful, or do you not bother trying to get her to help?

Try to get EDNA to understand

"What?" you look at yourself, "what I'm wearing is hardly casual."

"Understood, date clothing selected. Clothing change will be initiated on your return home."

"What? No, cancel that."

"Understood, searching for places to change clothing near your location..."

"No, I don't want that either."

"Understood, clothing will be delivered to your place of work."

"WHAT?"

Your yell suddenly pains your throat and you cough in pain. Your throat raw, especially after that incident in Raymond's office.

"Damn, last thing I need is to lose my voice."

"Throat lozenges can be found in your purse," EDNA announces. You blink, something helpful at least. You root around your purse, and finding the lozenges, take two and roll them around in your mouth. It's sweet flavour and juices soothe your throat, and with one thing right you decide to make one more shot speaking sense into EDNA.

"EDNA, I 'eed to get ou' of 'ere," you say with the lozenges still in your mouth.

"I'm glad you're enjoying yourself there."

"No, I 'an' a 'axi."

"I have no Ex's on record, would you like to add one?"

You clearly didn't think far ahead on this one. Alright, you could spit out the lozenges and then....

The bathroom door opens. Wendy? No, you hear two pairs of heels, chatting as they approach the sinks. "...not saying Jospeh is always like that but there are times, like at the barbeque event. I mean we all say things we don't mean but did he genuinely not mean it, or was the **** just making him a bit more honest? I know he's having some trouble at home, but we've all got our strains and when was the last time...."

You roll your eyes in exasperation, they sound like they're going to be there a while and no way will you be able to talk sense into EDNA with this conversation in the background.

You leave the stall, wash your hands in pretense, nodding at the two women (one in a very formal business suit, the other more causal), and Wendy greets you outside

Onto HR, or somewhere else?
