Chapter 28 by tailteller
Sally, or fast forward to James's return?
Sally
Sally didn't wake up until nearly 2pm. Realizing this, she jumped out of her seat in a panic. She threw the door to the garage open. Some weird thing sat inside, and she didn't know what to make of it. Whatever it was, Aurora wasn't in there. She checked the guest bathroom next. Still nothing. Then James's room. Holding out on panicking entirely, she checked the bathroom. The mirror had been taken off of the hinges that held it to the medecine cabinet.
When she still couldn't find the alien woman she felt her heart drop. Then she heard the familiar buzzing accent from the empty second bedroom. She peaked in as quietly as she could. Aurora sat in the middle, with the mirror on one side and James's tablet on the other. She switched between a series of pictures of the human mouth and the mirror, comparing her mouth to the photos and practicing the sounds they belonged to.
Sighing with a deep relief, she went back to her seat. After a while of messing around on her phone, Aurora came out with a sheepish look. Sally pretended not to notice her trying to be sneaky about returning the mirror. When she returned, she glowed with a brown color. Blue interrupted it in flickering patterns across her arms. "Ssszaallleee~", she managed to say somewhat playfully.
Sally looked up from her phone. "Yeah?"
"You want play fuck?", she smiled.
Sally nearly dropped her phone, her jaw going slack. "I...what?!"
Aurora looked at the game console, mimicking the motions of the controller. Oh. She thought that was how to refer to the game... Sally gave a shaky sigh. Of course that's what she thought. "Sssssure...but you should know we call it a 'game'. That word is for when you're angry...or when you mean uh..." Sally paused. Aurora's head tilted and she flickered white. "You know what a baby is?" Aurora nodded. "Well, 'fuck' means making a baby, too."
Aurora flickered between white, brown, and red. Then a light lavender color faded into her cheeks. A vibrating, elongated "Oooooh!" left her lips. "I...I did not maen...this thing."
"It's okay, you didn't know.", Sally took another breath and started to set up the game. "Let's...move on from that."
"Yesz...awkwvard.", Aurora nodded in agreement.
She'd learned that too? How long had she been in that room...
Does anything else happen before James gets home?
Aurora
