The girls stop for coffee

The conversation was basically the same as it had been the last few times he hung out with the girls, but with a lot of mentions of Rob, to which Kyle told them he hadn't spoken to Rob since he left the previous night. Kyle was almost relieved when the car stopped, and he grabbed his bag, before realizing that they weren't at the gym, they were stopped in front of a very famous coffee chain.

"I thought we were going to the gym..." Kyle said.

"We are, but we always start off with coffee." Darla replied.

"I'll run in and grab the coffee. What does everyone want?" Melissa asked.

Darla and Robin had predictable choices, an Iced Caramel Macchiato and an Iced Skinny Mocha respectively.

"What about you, Kylie?" Melissa asked.

"Just a large coffee with cream and two sugars, please." Kyle replied.

"Ugh, you're so boring." Melissa giggled.

Kyle just shrugged as Melissa hopped out of the car and ran into the coffee shop. Robin immediately undid her seatbelt and turned backwards towards Kyle.

"Kylie, I love your hair, can you show me how you did it?" Robin asked.

"I dunno. MARCI's in charge of all that stuff, I'm just along for the ride." Kyle shrugged. "I don't usually dress like this."

"Well, you totes should, cause you're a certified hottie." Darla said.

Kyle missed Darla and Robin sharing a look before Melissa returned with the coffees. She handed Darla and Robin theirs before handing a cup to Kyle. He immediately knew something was wrong, since his drink was cold instead of hot. And it was in the wrong type of cup.

"What's this?" Kyle asked. "This isn't what I said."

"Iced caramel mocha. Trust me, you'll love it." Melissa replied.

Robin pulled the car back onto the road and Kyle slumped back, defeated. Idly, he took a sip of the drink and grimaced. Skim milk... again. Even when MARCI isn't in charge, he's still on a diet. But the drink wasn't that bad. The girls continued to chat over their coffees as the car finally pulled into the parking lot of the gym.
