A master jedi

It happened just as the harvest festival began. A week long event which happens just after harvest and focuses on contests and parties as thanks for the bountiful harvests. You decided to take Jill there and buy her a lot of different snacks. With her being pregnant she had an increased appetite so you figured she’d appreciate it a lot. But due to her being so advanced in her pregnancy you couldn’t have her stand and wait in line. So instead you had your woman sit at a table and then you’d go get the food.

While returning to Jill with some pastries, you notice how one of them suddenly starts floating. At first you are confused. A floating pastry? Are you dreaming? But no, it really is floating, and it’s floating away from you. You chase after Jill’s food, your mind still boggled about it floating, until you watch it float into someone’s hand. Now it is held by a man, dressed in robes, his head covered by a hood.

You wave your hand at the man and say, “Give that back.”
“Your feelings betray you.” The hooded man says, seemingly impervious to your mind trick. “But no worries, I merely took this to get your attention. You can have it back.”
He then held out his hand to return the food.
You take the pastry back and ask the man, “Who are you?”
The man takes the hood off his head and says, “My name is Luke Skywalker. I am the master of the newly rebuild jedi order and I am in search for **** sensitives.”
“And what does that have to do with me?” You ask suspiciously.
“I know you tried to use a jedi mind trick on me.” Luke says.
Your heart nearly skips a beat. This guy knows about you’re your mind powers?
“There exists a power in this galaxy. Something we call the ****.” Luke says. “It is present in every being. Some most have a weak connection to it. People like you and I, we have a strong connection.”
You’ve never heard anyone talk about something called a **** but somehow, you seem to understand exactly what he means.
“You mean … you are like me?” You ask in astonishment.
“In a way.” Luke says. “Except I have been trained in the use of the ****, you are not. But if you like, you can join my order and be trained.”
Trained, he says. So, you can become even more powerful?
“There are others just like you. I am gathering as many as I can, inviting them all into my jedi order. The idea is for us to train and become guardians of this galaxy, like the jedi of old. I am certain you have heard the old stories?”
“I have.” You say. “Many years ago, when my parents were still alive. They told me about the clone wars and the jedi.”
Luke smiles at you and says, “My jedi order is going to be a bit different from that. We will be more peaceful and only employ aggression in self-defense. But before I can teach you any of that, I will need to know if you are willing to join.”
You would love to join. Just a moment ago you saw him levitate a pastry, imagine what else he can make float. And if you can learn all of that as well? Maybe one day you would be able to lift a light freighter. Then you notice the plate of pastries in your hand. What about Jill? She is carrying your child. Just 3 more months and your child will be born. Can you really leave her behind? Are you willing to exchange the life you have for what might be the adventure of a lifetime?
