After getting the basics down, she managed to mime out that she wanted the videos playing at double speed. He obliged, confused at first, but after each video she had new words to use. After five hours straight, he'd lost count of how many they had gone through. Soon he found himself in the kitchen with her, naming things and even clarifying confusions. He found that her accent was extremely appealing, even a little sexy in an odd way. The light buzzing of her vocal chords, and the way she pronounced her vowels like she might be gently kissing the words as they leave her lips. Her plosives paused before the next phonetic came in most words, which James thought was incredibly adorable.
With words involved, the meaning of her colors became much more clear. She used them instead of speaking emotions aloud, and they accompanied facial expressions. Currently, as she stared at his plates, bowls, and silverware, her focused face came with flickering white.
"All pa-laits are dishesz...nnnot all dishesz are pa-laits."
"Right!", he smiled.
"And szome dishesz...are sil-var-wear...that isz not mmade of sil-var."
"Right...sometimes it is but not normally."
"And dishesz hold hu...whoo..." her face scrunched into itself as she struggled with the 'f' sound. James clacked his teeth together, and lightly bit his lower lip. She let her teeth out and mimicked him "fffffood. Dishesz hold fffood.", she smiled and shimmered blue when he nodded. "And mmmy...fffffood...is called ahggs...and ffffahn-goosz."
"Right!"
"And ffffood Szall-ee take wasz..."
James blinked as his mind processed the show of focus. She was still upset about that? "Chocolate.", he said flatly.
She flickered purple, giving a shy smile. "I like."
"I know. All women like chocolate.", he chuckled. "You learn...really fast. Like, crazy fast."
"I learn for Jaymesz.", she said, still bashfully smiling at him. Purple faded into place on her cheeks and the sides of her head.
He felt his own blush rise to his face, intensifying when she touched his cheek, flickering red.
He shook his head quickly, "We uh...we turn this color. Like you with...", he gestured at the purple that tinted her cheeks, which grew even brighter.
"I...like Jaymesz.", she declared with a shaking voice.
"I like you too, Aurora...", he responded. He couldn't help but be confused when she ran off into the bathroom.
