Chapter 6 by Gentlemen8p Gentlemen8p

Do the girls make it to the dormitory?

Yes, without any interruptions

The two old friends raced further into the school. Iris questioning why Victoria was in such a hurry and how she held her arm hostage, once reaching the south wing of the building and entering the girls' dormitory Iris was already lost, unable to tell the difference of one area from the other.

Victoria explained that boys were only limited to the first-floor entryway and no further to help prevent any improper behaviour and to protect the girls' privacy. Together, they bound up on the fourth floor and down a long elegant white hallway with a beautiful carpet of rich blues.

"... But that doesn't stop improper behaviour from occurring ..." Iris was half paying attention to her friend's commentary and her new environment, whilst they rushed passed a bedroom door Iris could've sworn she saw two female students leant against the door frame making out, the young women looking back to check if it was her imagination. "... I think you'll be a great fit here."

"Don't get my hopes up." Iris only caught the end of the conversation as she innocently bit her bottom lip trying to distract herself from risqué ideas.

Victoria stopping to pull a key from her pocket. "Here it is." She smiles at Iris before opening the room.

The room, while small, was grand and far nicer than Iris had imagined: housing a bed, desk, and vanity table. Victoria even has her own bathroom and closet. The window on the back wall opens up to a large activities area behind the school with sports grounds and a lake.

"Wow. I knew this was a school for the privileged but this..." Iris mumbled.

"You get used to it. Now, have a seat." Victoria assured her, patting the padded stool at the vanity. Iris did as instructed, facing the other girl."You seem distracted. Is it because of Victor? I apologise for my big brother. I won't defend him but he's not usually like that, yes he can be cold true, but mostly he acts empty." Victoria explains as she stroked her friend's hair. "You saw him with that fiance of his correct? Having a babe like that on his arm and he barely even reacted but you on the other hand."Victoria drew out her words, when did this girl get so mischievous? "You actually got him to appear human."

"Changing the subject." The young women felt uncomfortable about where her friend's conversation was leading. "That girl was Victor's fiance? Never figured he was the one to settle down."

"He isn't, but Daddy's got all our futures planned out, in Victor's case she the daughter of one of Daddy's business rivals, well ex-rival." She didn't need to explain Iris had heard rumours of the ruthless the siblings' father had become after his humble begins. "Daddy wasn't happy until he had the last of his enemy's wealth as a dowry and their daughter for a trophy that his son could show off in public. Ugh, which reminds Daddy's got a couple of dates he wants me to go on before the first term is up, exhausting." Iris assumed said 'dates' were potential suitors for Victoria since they were discussing arranged marriages. She shrugged it off as another expectation of life with this family.

However, she still couldn't contemplate why Victoria's father would allow her a literally nobody to marry his youngest son. Her train of thought was quickly broken after wincing at her hair being pulled. She turned back to find Victoria struggling with a stubborn knot after deciding to attack the nightmare of black hair with a silver brush. "Sorry but I promise after I'm done we'll have Victor eating his words."

"I'll get over it beside why would I care what that jerk thinks when I got a friend like you?" The comment got an aw from her hairdresser. "And Arther of course. Aside from you, he is probably the best friend I have. Even if I haven't seen you two in so long." Recalling why she was here in the first place, she decided to lay a little groundwork. "Besides, he is a lot cuter than I remember."

Victoria gives a sly smile in the mirror of the vanity, still brushing out Iris' hair. It was beginning to look less like a nest and more like it belonged to a girl. "You know..." She hinted, tilting her head. "Arthur is on the school's golf team. I bet you could join if you wanted to."

Iris cocks an eyebrow. "The golf team? I never would have guessed. Is he any good?"

"Surprisingly, yes." Victoria says. "If you play your cards right, I'm sure you could guilt him into giving you a lesson or two. Have you ever played?"

Iris instantly had a flashback of her father trying to break into a mini-golf course which ended with her eating ice-cream in the back office while her father received a stern talking to by a security guard.

"No." Iris laughs. "Sounds boring."

"Dreadfully so but..." Victoria smirks. "Anyway, I think this is the best I can get your hair for now. Maybe, if I had a straight iron, I could do more. Maybe if I could cut it."

"No CUTTING!" The very mentioning of having their hair cut provoked a response from Iris.

Victoria giggled. "What about your clothes?"

Not really sure what she had, Iris got up and unzips her bag. Inside she finds a few sets of the white school uniform, an evening gown, and a few other items. "Everyone seems to be wearing uniforms." She comments.

"Yes, casual clothes are for the weekend only. But, it being the first day, no one will say anything." Victoria confirms.

How does she dress?
