How will party girls Kara and Barbara handle this?
"In the dark of the night evil will find you!"
Kara knew she was screwed, It was a damned if you do and damned if you don’t kind of screwed. If she used her Kryptonian powers she would be fine, but everyone here would ask questions… If she used even a fraction of the fighting techniques that Bruce had taught her, she would be fine, but people would ask a lot of questions. Barbara was a cops daughter and it would stand to reason he would get her self defense training… Kara on the other hand was the adopted daughter of a playboy billionaire… Who happened to play lacrosse and field hockey in high school! She didn’t need her fancy moves, she needed a stick! Lacrosse was “Hockey on the dirt” after all.
“Babs,” Kara said, “Stick!”
Barbara seemed to be reading Kara’s mind and tossed her the hockey stick she had pulled from the Mister Freeze fan Hockey Hooligan. Another hooligan came towards Barbara.
“ICE TO MEET…” He started as he charged.
Kara cut him off by spinning around Barbara and side checking him with her stick in a Lacrosse Guard position knocking him over. Another hooligan came towards them and Kara whacked his arm in a slap check that sent goon’s hockey stick to the ground.
“Ice her!” one of the Hooligans called.
Barbara scrambled and grabbed the fallen hockey stick to use a weapon.
“Freeze them!” One of the Hooligans shouted.
A group of the Hooligans hooted and charged at Barbara. Kara jabbed the head of the stick into the chest of the lead goon that knocked him back. Barbara moved to block another Hooligan’s attempt to hit Kara.
“No High Sticking!” one of the hooligans shouted as they brought their hockey stick chopping down from above like a fantasy sword.
Kara kicked the guy in the crotch and moved out of the way. Barbara then hit him across the back knocking him to the floor and turned to the next hooligan.
“Ice to meet you!” a chick shouted as she thrust her hockey stick like a spear.
“Dude,” Barbara snapped, “Someone already used that!”
Kara grabbed the blade of the stick and yanked it sending the hockey girl tumbling over the fallen hooligans on the floor. Another pair of hooligans moved in from the sides.
“You got the figure,” one facing Kara shouted as he swung at her, “But can you skate?”
Kara blocked and checked him, slapping him in the face with the blade of her stick. Barbara was using her stick more aggressively like it was a pole ax, jabbing and chopping at the in coming hooligan.
Then the fight was interrupted for a second by a deep ominous, almost satanic booming voice.
“End this.”
The lights then went out. There was a flash of a camera from the stage and then the sound of a hand slapping a rubber clad ass, followed by Patsy shouting in protest. Kara reached up and switched rubbed her earrings and smiled as her x-ray vision returned. She looked around the darkness and spotted Jason in his Robin armor smashing into and beating the Hooligans. She looked to her other side and spotted Kate in her Batwoman gear also dropping hooligans that tired to retreat towards the door. Robin bounced down next to Barbara and put a set of night vision goggles in her hands. Kara looked at was deliberate in picking out the Hooligans to strike. A Hooligan tossed a goth girl into Kara’s path and she had to hold off. The Hooligan swung wildly and Kara looked about where she could get an in. Robin dropped from the ceiling and landed feet first on the Hooligan’s head. Robin reached up and shot a grapple line into the ceiling girders. As the power cranked the spool and rolled the line back in and pulled Robin up, the boy wonder kicked two more Hooligans as he shot up into the ceiling.
“Where are they?” a Hooligan shouted.
“I have a hostage!” another shouted.
A scream called out from the location the claim of a hostage and as Kara looked over, the Hooligan was now hanging from the girders with a line of synthetic line. Kara took flight and went about kicking a bunch of the Hooligans in the heads. Kara watched outside as police cruisers came to club. She landed on the dance floor near Barbara as Robin and Batwoman vanished into the ceiling of the building and out into the night. Kara grabbed the googles off Barbara’s face and flew up to hand them back to Batwoman before zipping down to the dance floor and turning on the dampeners inside her earrings.
“Police!” a group of officers shouted as they charged in with guns drawn and flashlights, “No body move!”
Kara turned and tripped over one of the unconscious hooligans. She hadn’t planned it, but it would work.
“Seriously?” Barbara asked.
“Dancing in heels is easier than walking over passed out shit head!” Kara snapped back.
*
Kara, Barbara and Patsy were interviewed together, separately, two at a time, separately again… and so on for an hour and a half. Being there with Barbara Gordon, the daughter of the police commissioner should have been enough to get them released…
But it was clear the officers in charge of the response and investigating the crime were some of the officers that wanted Gordon out of Gotham and thus Barbara being the police commissioner’s daughter was a hindrance. The biggest mystery of the night was ‘who grabbed Patsy’s ass’ as it turned out. No one in the house band would fess up to it, especially since they thought of her a child star and as such a minor. Kara and Barbara didn’t say anything and were going back and forth with in their heads about if it was young pervert Jason or lesbian Kate that slapped Patsy on the ass.
