Chapter 5 by Felix715 Felix715

Do the girls make it to the dormitory?

Yes, all the way to Victoria's room

Without slowing, the two old friends trot further into the school. Iris didn't understand why Victoria was in such a hurry. Reaching the south wing of the building, the two entered the girls' dormitory. Here, boys were only allowed into the first-floor entryway and no further to provide privacy for the girls and help prevent any improper behavior. Victoria pulls Iris around a corner and into a stairwell. Together, they bound up to the fourth floor and down a long elegant white hallway with a beautiful carpet of rich blues.

Five doors from the stairwell, Victoria stops and pulls a key from her pocket. "Here it is." She smiles at Iris before opening the room.

The room, while small, was grand and far nicer than Iris had imagined: housing a bed, desk, and vanity. Victoria even has her own bathroom and closet. The window on the back wall opens up to a large activities area behind the school with sports grounds and a lake.

"Wow. I knew this was a school for the privileged but this..." Iris mumbled.

"You get used to it. Now, have a seat. Let's take a look at that nose." Victoria assured her, patting the padded stool at the vanity. Iris did as instructed, facing the other girl. "I'm sorry about Arthur. He never would have hit you had he known who you were. He really is kind at heart, no matter how he puts on in front of the other boys." Victoria says as she tilts Iris' head back to blot at her bloodied nose. "That should do it. Now, to do something about this." She says stroking Iris' hair.

"It's ok. Wouldn't be the first time a boy has punched me." Iris thought back to growing up with the three siblings, specifically the oldest brother, as she turned around on her seat.

Victoria picked up a silver-handled brush and began running it through the tangled mess of long black hair. "Trust me. Arthur feels terrible about it." She struggles with a stubborn knot.

Iris winces as her hair is pulled. "I'm sure I can forgive him. Aside from you, he is probably the best friend I have. Even if I haven't seen you two in so long." Recalling why she was here in the first place, she decides to lay a little groundwork. "Besides, he is a lot cuter than I remember."

Victoria gives a sly smile in the mirror of the vanity, still brushing out Iris' hair. It was beginning to look less like a nest and more like it belonged to a girl. "You know..." She hinted, tilting her head. "Arthur is on the school's golf team. I bet you could join if you wanted to."

Iris cocks an eyebrow. "The golf team? I never would have guessed. Is he any good?"

"Surprisingly, yes." Victoria says. "If you play your cards right, I'm sure you could guilt him into giving you a lesson or two. Have you ever played?"

"No." Iris laughs. "Sounds boring."

"Dreadfully so but..." Victoria smirks. "Anyway, I think this is the best I can get your hair for now. Maybe, if I had a straight iron, I could do more. What about your clothes?"

Not really sure what she had, Iris got up and unzips her bag. Inside she finds a few sets of the white school uniform, an evening gown, and a few other items. "Everyone seems to be wearing uniforms." She comments.

"Yes, casual clothes are for the weekend only. But, it being the first day, no one will say anything." Victoria confirms.

How does she dress?
