Fury perched herself atop a building to watch the battle. Regardless of what her father had told her to do, if Fury could not defeat this metahuman thug, then she would not be recruited. It was as simple as that. For Fury's own standing in the Justice Society to increase, she would needed to have a valuable partner - not only did this depend on Grace winning, but also how she won and how fast.

Much to Fury's surprise, not only did Grace defeat Killer Croc in mere seconds, she also chose to execute the metahuman - a rarity among the so called heroes of Earth. Yes, thought Fury, her father had chosen well in choosing to bring her this one.

"Hail, fellow Amazon," said Fury after leaping from her perch to Grace.

"Who are you?" asked Grace, wheeling around to face Fury.

"I am Wonder Woman," said Fury and Grace eyed her suspiciously.

"Wonder Woman's been dead for five years," said Grace. "I'll admit, you look like her and you're clearly enhanced."

"Yes, Diana of Amazonia died five years ago," nodded Steppenwolf. "But her daughter survived."

"You're an Amazon too, then?" asked Grace.

"Yes, I am," said Fury. "We are all that is left of our people. It's time for us to take our rightful place in the world."

"I'm doing good work here in Gotham," said Grace.

"I'm sure," nodded Fury. "But you're doing it alone. Imagine what we could do together." Fury neared the hesitant Grace and put her lips to the girl's lips. "I am your queen." She pressed her tongue against Grace's. "We will take care of all this together."
