To put it simply, it's a treasure left to mortalkind by the Three Goddesses, and it's capable of granting the wish of whoever touches it. However, several hundred years ago Ganondorf, in a bid for power, managed to enter the hidden holy place where the Triforce rested, the Sacred Realm. There, he touched it, but because he was not deemed worthy in Courage, Wisdom, and Power the Triforce split into pieces. He kept the Triforce of Power, which gave him his magical might. The Triforce of Courage went to some courageous young boy who grew up to be the head of the guard. The the Triforce of Wisdom went to my ancestor. You are the reincarnation of that young boy, and I am the reincarnated form of my ancestor. We both bear a third of the full Triforce." The Princess looked back to her books, her eyes intense. "I've been digging around these ancient texts for any more information, and I think I've found something interesting. Apparently, there is a spell that can move a piece of the Triforce from one to another. Not only that, but if you have the right components, which I do, you can even manage a switch with someone dead, like Ganondorf. Now I'm at a crossroads. Should you and I switch pieces, and see what happens? Should I switch with Ganondorf? Or should you switch with someone else?"
