Link falls asleep and only wakes up when the kennelmaster enters, and finds himself into obedience training.

Link blinked, and just as he felt his heavy eyelids falling down again, he thought to himself that he was good at waking up on time. He could take a quick nap...right? His dreams...Link couldn't remember afterwards exactly what occurred in his dreams that night, only that they were feral dreams, full of blood and **** and savage instinct.

“Wake up, you mutts!” snapped a voice, and the wolfy dreams fell away as Link awoke with a canine yelp. The Twili woman looking down at him, and all the other wolves, was clearly not happy. “I’m not thrilled about having to train some wild Light World mutt, but the Princess’s orders are final, aren’t they? So now I’m stuck with you! And you’d better learn now, mutt: Lashda’s never failed to train a wolf in all her years as Kennelmaster, so you’d better be ready for a life serving your betters, do you hear me?”

Despite the harsh words, Link raised his head to look at her, eye to eye, and growled back. The other wolves looked at Link in astonishment, but he didn’t care. He was the Hero of Light, savior of both worlds, and he wasn’t going to take any of this woman’s…

SNAP! In an instant, Lashda pulled a whip out of a pocket and snapped it a foot away from Link’s head. The sound made his canine ears sting with pain, and Link let out a whimper, as did all the other dogs in the room. Lashda met Link’s eyes again, an unfriendly frown on her face. “Now then, did you have any more foolish whining to do? Or can we move on with our day?” As she asked the question she played with the whip’s handle, letting the tip wander the floor of the room.

As much as Link wanted to continue objecting, he didn’t, and turned away from her face. He didn’t want to suffer more under her hand, not unless it was for a good chance of escaping. Lashda turned and pointed down the hallway, past the open door. “Go on then, get!” The other wolves quickly complied, matching Lashda’s pace as she left the room, and after a moment’s hesitation Link went as well. It was a blow to his ego to see that even if he’d pulled off his plan, he’d still be where they wanted him. After a few minutes of walking to and fro, locked doors barring any deviation from her set path, they came upon some sort of gymnasium.

“Since you’re new, we’ll start with seeing what you can do. Run!” The command startled Link for a moment, but then he noticed the lines on the ground, marking a track for him to sprint down. Once he got that, he lept into motion, running the full course in what he thought was a decent time. “Not bad...not bad at all. You might be more than worthless after all, mutt.” It went on like that, test after test, until she seemed to be satisfied. Then she pulled out a leash and a collar, and told Link, “Get over here, mutt.”
