Time to End it. Batman vs Dracula. The final Fight. (From the Point of View of Dracula)

Chapter 147 by Colleem Colleem

Dracula looked down upon his brides from his throne. Talia bled from several wounds and looked drained and bruised. Dinah, on the other hand, was still in the process of fully understanding her transformation and was the only one on her knees. Zatanna, however, looked at him angrily. Her outfit had changed and Dracula knew what had happened to her. She stood angrily before him and clenched her fists.

"This is all your fault! You used me!" she hissed angrily and her cheeks were covered with blood from her tears. "Don't deny it, you monster!"

Dracula straightened up to his full size and looked down at her. "Why should I deny it?" he asked, turning Zatanna even more against him.

"Because of you, Constantine is dead! Because of you, I have betrayed my friends and put them in danger!" she shouted angrily and clenched her fist. But he just smiled at her and smiled.

"Do not overestimate this ring, my love. You will never be able to raise your hand against me. And now..." his voice darkened. "Silence, or I will tear off your hand and take the ring. Then you will be what you were meant to be!"

Instinctively, Zatanna held her hand protectively over the ring and took a step back. Just the thought that she would become that monster again gave her a feeling of fear like she had never felt before.

"It's time I stopped playing this game." Said Dracula and walked past his brides. Uncertain what he meant by that, they followed him to the castle gate. There he gave them the signal to wait and not to interfere under any circumstances. Slowly he stepped over the castle gate and went straight into the forest that had formed. The humans fled in panic, knowing that they were no match for this creature in their human form.

It wasn't long before Batman appeared as well and the two met as they had at the beginning of the battle.

"Dracula." Nodded the Black Knight.

"Bruce." Nodded the king of the undead. "It's time we finish this."

"I agree." Nodded Bruce and waited to see what Dracula was up to.

"Today, when the sun is highest in the sky, we will fight each other. In a fight to the death. As warriors," nodded Dracula, and when Batman didn't object, just walked away, it was clear to him that he had accepted.

"Master?" Talia asked confusedly when Dracula returned. "I don't understand..."

"I have the choice to hunt him like an animal and kill him like cattle or give him an honorable fight. He has earned my respect. It won't be long, and once he's gone, I will set the whole town on fire."

"You can't do this!" cried Zatanna in horror. "There are still innocent people living here!"

"Zatanna. Go to your chamber and don't bother me!" hissed Dracula, who was slowly annoyed by her new nature. Since she was still bound to him she obeyed without any objections, but he was sure that she would be much more critical from now on. "You will not intervene in this fight. Have I made myself clear?" he asked the two other brides, who nodded and bowed. He spent the next hours cleaning his sword and armour. Deep down he had always been a warrior and he liked the idea of dueling with an honorable man like Bruce.

Hours later, both men met again in the jungle that was now Gotham Plaza. The humans, his pack, the vampire brides and even Goliath, who wore a magical Item from Dracula to prefent him becoming Stone in Sunlight, had gathered to follow this mighty spectacle. Dracula slowly approached his opponent. As expected, he had chosen his suit. The black bat mask and the long black cape completely covered the figure of his opponent. In a strange way, Dracula understood why the people in the city were so afraid of him.

Slowly he drew his broadsword and held it in front of his chest to give Bruce a warrior salute.

"On my honour I vow not to use my magic powers and to face you as far as possible as an equal. However, I must confess that I cannot completely suppress my physical abilities." He said respectfully.

"I thank you for these words, but don't worry, Count Dracula. I've fought Superman many times and won." Said Batman in a gloomy voice and barely nodded noticeably.

Dracula turned around and walked a few steps away from him to get some distance, but when he turned around again there was nothing left of Batman. Dracula felt numb with his new limitations. He had limited his powers as much as possible, but he was still many times stronger than any human. There was no question that this fight would soon be over. Yet he found it irritating to be so without any perception. Normally he could have heard the beating of his heart with his ears alone, but there was a stillness that was unusual for him. He only heard the plants crunching under his boot.

"Impressive Batman. I'm beginning to understand why the creatures of this city fear you." He said loud enough that he could be heard from afar. He was sure that Batman was somewhere in the trees, waiting for a favorable position to attack. His eyes searched the area systematically, but Batman was nowhere to be seen. With his eyes, he wouldn't be able to get anywhere around here. He stopped and closed his eyes. ...concentrating entirely on his hearing. Even without all his powers, he had always relied on his instincts. In the fight against the Wolf King, in the fight against his descendants, in the fight against the magician in Rome and even more important in the fight against Van Helsing. Never before had his instincts betrayed him.

And then he felt something hit his back and got stuck there. Just a second later, two explosions tore him from his feet.

"So much for my instincts!" flashed through his mind.

Whatever it was, it threw him several meters where he could unroll and open his eyes. He held his broadsword protectively in front of him and saw three more objects coming towards him. Whatever those things were, they were fast and perfectly aimed. He had hardly seen these objects when he had already realized the full complexity of the attack. Batman had been waiting to get in his back and then attacked him with these bombs. However, he had not only carried out this attack, he had also foreseen where he would land.

Dracula leaped up from his squatting position and his blade flashed in the light of the sun. Each blow deflected one of the three flying objects. To his surprise, however, they did not explode. He went to a tree in which one of the throwing knives had been impacted and pulled it out to examine it. It was a sharp blade, shaped like a bat. Amused, he dropped it on the ground and sighed.

"Clever. You wanted to see what I was capable of. And I gave you a taste of my strength." He said, cursing inside. Now Batman knew exactly how fast he was. Now it was a matter of waiting. If he wanted, he could destroy the entire forest in the blink of an eye, but that would be dishonorable. It was a few minutes before Batman launched his next attack. Completely silently he had managed to sneak up on him. ...right from the front. Dracula looked up and could see a huge bat coming down on him from the sky. Somehow, Batman had managed to summon a huge monster. It took only a fraction of a second, but it was enough time to get a good kick. Dracula felt something hit him in the chest and threw him to the ground. Before he could get up he was grabbed by his foot and thrown around. With an almost superhuman strength his body was thrown around and catapulted against a tree. As he kneeled on the ground and looked up, he saw the heavily armoured black boot of Batman and was catapulted through the air again. Even an Arabian black stallion could not have kicked harder. The kick had broken several of Dracula's ribs and would certainly have been extremely painful for a human. However... pain was something Dracula had not felt for a long time.

Batman, however, didn't give way and wanted to attack directly again. But the moment of surprise was over. Dracula lay on his back and grabbed with his right hand. Surprised by the power of the kick, he had to really make an effort, but he managed to stop his foot. Another jolt was enough to throw Batman away from him. He picked himself up and stood up in front of Batman with his legs apart. He had flown a few meters, but had managed to unroll elegantly and look at his enemy in a lurking position. Dracula noticed that Batman was anxious to continue using his cape to hide his body. That had to mean something. Probably he had hidden more weapons under his cape and wanted to prevent Dracula from seeing them. But once again Dracula would not allow this game of hide-and-seek to start again.

He jumped forward and swung his sword far and wide to split his enemy in two. He did not feel in the least guilty for being armed with a sword and fighting an unarmed one. Batman had chosen other weapons and he had given him enough time. But instead of smashing his skull cleanly, he felt a violent resistance in his arm. His blade had been stopped by the Batman arm guard. Batman jumped up and tried to grab Dracula's wrist, but Dracula blocked the attack with his free left arm. However, Batman was not deterred and spun around in an almost ridiculous way and then Dracula felt something hit him in the face. However, he didn't know exactly WHAT had hit him in the face, because the arms of Batman had certainly not been there. The force was again equal to that of a mule. He hadn't shaken off the dazedness of the first attack when Batman started an incredibly fast series of attacks against him. Each attack was perfectly matched to the following one and already the 3rd attack was enough to knock his sword out of his hand. Dracula tried to interrupt the series of attacks, but again and again his attempts were countered by Batman, redirected or he simply reached into the void.

Blow after blow he was driven by Batman, ridiculously unable to free himself from these blows. On top of that he had to realize that the blows and kicks of his opponent had a superhuman power. Finally he managed to grab the fist of Batman with his left hand and he looked sinister into the face of Batman.

"My turn!" he growled and struck with his right hand. The punch was neither graceful nor elaborate, but he was pretty angry at the moment. . . .and so the blow was very strong. His fist crashed unchecked against Batman's chest and he grinned arrogantly as he watched Batman being hurled almost 30 meters away. Now he finally had some air again. He spat out the blood that had collected in his mouth. With the back of his hand, he ran his hand over his lips and watched the blood.

"Why is he so strong?" he asked himself and watched Batman rise up groaning. For the first time he could now see what was under the cape of the Dark Knight. He tilted his head and looked at the strange armor he was wearing. In this armour he looked much bolder. Even a medieval plate armour with chain mail and gambeson would not have been so massive.

One of the human spectators shouted loudly and cheered at the sight. "That's the Superman Slayer suit!"

Many of the people started cheering and clapping. Since his camouflage was now superfluous, Batman stood much more openly before him and Dracula looked at the armour once again interested in this comment.

"Superman Slayer?" he asked and slowly went back to his sword he had lost during the attack and pulled it out of the dirt. A quick sweep of the blade was enough to clear it of the dirt and the grass.

"One of my suits that allows me to keep up with your strength," Batman said calmly and began typing with his right hand on the arm guard of his left hand.

"I am honored!" Dracula smiled and stretched. "Let's see if I can prove myself worthy of this suit," he said and charged forward. He may not have been a martial artist like Batman, but no one had ever spent more time with the sword than another being he knew. Now it was he who drove Batman before him as a master drove his student. But even he could not get through Batman's defenses. The bracers were his primary protection and also the shins of the suit were especially hard armored. The fight between the two raged mercilessly back and forth for hours. More and more Dracula gained a feeling for the maneuvers of Batman and was more and more able to anticipate them. But whenever he began to dominate the fight again, Batman changed his tactics fundamentally. He always used different tools like smoke bombs, explosives or stun guns. Dracula slowly began to despair. It was as if he was fighting a more tricky version of himself. The spectators followed the fight completely spellbound and probably only very few of those present had ever seen their Dark Knight so openly in combat. Dracula could not help but admire the skills of Batman. If he hadn't become a werewolf but a vampire he would have known no bounds. It was almost a shame that he had to kill such a capable man. During a break in the fight between the two of them, he could see Batman breathing heavily and kept looking at the display in his arm.

"Is your magic leaving you?" Dracula asked calmly. He himself was not yet exhausted but still impressively badly battered. He now understood why this armor was called the Superman Slayer. He himself had fought with this woman and had had to use a significant part of his power. So he had an understanding of how strong the enemy was. That a human being could only get that kind of power through armor was a sign of the wonders of this Time.

"Something like this." Puffed Batman. "Didn't expect the fight to last six hours."

Dracula looked to the horizon where the sun was about to set and then his eyes looked for the rising moon.

"It seems that fate does not want us to fight honorably as equal opponents."

"Sorry?"

"Know, mortal, that I will honor thy name as long as I exist... but now is the time to end this contest. These people worship you... but now is the time to show them what you really are! What you have become. But be warned. You won't beat me this time."

"I've beaten you before. It was only Zatanna who saved you then!" growled Batman.

"That's right." Said Dracula smiling and slowly took off his armored gloves and let them fall to the ground. He rammed the silver sword into the ground. Slowly and thoughtfully he then began to take off his white gloves with the elaborate symbols embroidered on them. As soon as the two gloves touched the ground they caught fire. Violet flames caught the gloves and burned them completely. The wounds that Dracula had suffered in the hour-long fight healed at a breathtaking speed, as soon as the gloves were burned. He formed a square with both hands and looked through this square directly at Batman.

"Total release of all abilities. Releasing the seventh seal until the target is completely destroyed. "Category 1 Classification. Primary target: Batman. " he said almost ritually, feeling the seal he had placed upon himself thousands of years ago open. It had been partially opened at times to create certain effects, but now the seal was open until he or Batman died.

The power awakened within him flowed through every fiber of his body and all his powers were now at his complete disposal. All the little gimmicks that Batman would unleash could no longer prevent the inevitable. Even the Wolf King at that time needed an army at his side to stand up to him in this state.

"You are allowed to call upon any of your allies for help. Perhaps then it will be a fair fight." Said Dracula benevolently and looked at his brides. Zatanna in particular should see the power he actually possessed. Even back when he had created the Ring of Fire or summoned the castle, he had only loosened the seal a little. Never fully opened.

So now the time had come. Here he stood in all his glory. His skin almost emitted his strength as if he had an aura of energy. Only the most sensitive people would be able to perceive this aura, but he was almost certain that Batman belonged to it. Now the mortal would see why he was the king of the undead. It was time for Batman to realize the power he had unleashed.
