Chapter 42 by reaper13

What is Jennifer missing?

She never experienced the love from a boy

“Before my home got destroyed there was this boy, William.” Jennifer explains. “Literally the boy next door. We were the same age. We grew up together. Went to school together. He was kind and often stood up for me. He was my best friend. So well, when we got older, I started noticing him in a different way and well … I kinda got a crush on him.”
You take a seat on the bed next to the nun and listen to her story.
“But he apparently only ever saw me as just a friend. I mean, he never made a pass at me or anything. Now that I am a nun, I am sworn to forever miss out on how it would have been if things had gone different.”
“So basically, what you are feeling now is the fear of missing out.” You say. “That is actually very understandable. Many people love experiencing things simply for the sake of having had the experience. As long as they got to do it once, it is enough for them. When it comes to sex, well, many millions of people are already experience that so why be left out?”
“Not me.” Jennifer replies. “Not any more. Perhaps if my friend showed up here one day and asked me to come with him, I might actually throw off my habit and leave with him. But I really doubt he will ever show up.”
As Jennifer is talking, you try thinking of ways you can convince the teenage nun to at least give in to doing it once. But you can’t quite come up with anything good.
“I mean, the guy I had a crush on could have died in the war, run away to another country as a refugee, or maybe found a girl other than me and already married her.” Jennifer continues. “So, I guess I’ll just sit here and slowly become an old maid.”

“You know, if I was in your position, I would do it at least once.” You say.
“So, you would break your oath, huh?” Jennifer quips.
“The oath is meant to prevent you from being taken over by lust. If you have sex all day long you won’t be very productive to society anymore.” You say. “But if you do it for just the experience it would be more for learning and understanding, so I don’t see it as violating the spirit of the oath.”
You had not planned for that last sentence to being a tactic to convince Jennifer. It was your real opinion. Yet, this offhand remark of yours actually gets Jennifer to ponder her situation. But if you push the issue, she is likely to become defensive and reject it.

“Hey, John?” Jennifer asks. “You’ve had sex before, right?”
You nod and say, “I have.”
No need to brag about how many times and with who.
Then Jennifer blushes a little and, unable to look you in the eyes she asks, “How … was your first time like?”

Who was your first time with?
