talk to the locals

Once I was in town I walked to the mayors office. "hello I'm Naruko Uzumaki a shinobi of the leaf her to investigate the disappearances," I said in my most formal tone. see Sakura I can be professional when I want.

"thank you for getting her so quickly," said the mayor. "everyone is terrified to be alone. not that it helped Miu."

"that was the last women to disappear right," Naruko asked.

"yes little Miu I have known her since she was a little girl and I hope she is okay," said the mayor.

"what happen exactly you said she wasn't alone,' I asked.

"Yes she was with her mother getting groceries. she was there one moment gone the next," he said with tears in his eyes.

"where is her mother," I asked. "I would like to hear the story from her for all the details."

"of course," said the mayor. "she hasn't left her house since it happened. she lives two streets down in the third house from the left."

"thank you," said Naruko as she left. it took a few minutes but I found the mothers house and knocked on the door. after a few seconds a women in her fifty's with messy hair and red puffy eyes opened the door.

"hello," she said.

"hello there I'm from Konoha and was sent to investigate the disappearances. can I ask you a few questions," I ask with a smile on my face. the mother gained a look of hope in her eyes as she answers, "yes of course."

she led me to her table and the two of us sat down. "can you tell me what happened," Naruko asked.

"yes we were on our way home from getting groceries. we were walking around the marsh since Ms. shikari just finished her harvest and had fresh vegetables. one moment we were just talking and the next she was gone," Said the mother in tears.

"I know this is hard but anything you can tell me can help," I tell her. "Did you hear or see anything when she disappeared."

the mother took a moment to collect herself as she thought back. suddenly her eyes widened and said, "yes I remember now as we were walking there was this weird buzzing sound . I stopped to figure out what it was but there was nothing there I turned to my daughter to see if she knew but by then she was gone," she started to cry again. "im sorry I don't know anything else."

"that's okay," I said. "did you know any of the other girls?"

"no im sorry," she said.

"thank you for your time and I promise ill find her," I said holding her hand.

"thank you," she said. I then turned to leave the building as I thought about what I heard. for the daughter to disappear that fast meant a ninja had to be involved. no normal bandit could leave no trace like that in a moment. as for the buzzing it must have been a special technique he used. I pull out the scroll and looked over the information again and let out a small smile as I started to notice a small pattern all of them disappeared near the marsh. now with a location in mind I turn to the marsh and make my way to it.
