Find out what's bugging Mrs. Cleft

You frown at Mrs. Cleft's strange reaction and immediately drop the idea of molesting her husband. You climb out of the seat, patting Mr. Cleft on the arm as you pass into the back and sit next to Mrs. Cleft.

You lean your head almost against her shoulder and whisper into her ear.

"What's bugging you, Sara?" You ask.

"Oh, what?" She acts surprised by the question. "Nothing, nothing at all. Everything is fine."

"Come on," you scoot against her on the bench seat. "You made a face like..."

You do your best impression of the jealous expression you saw on Mrs. Cleft's face. She laughs at you and takes several seconds to calm down.

"So!?" You demand.

"Oh that face," she fights back another laughing fit. "Ahem, well, it was, it's not a important."

"Were you jealous I was...," you put your lips near her ear, "going to do something to your husband?"

"," she replies. "We're headed to a swinger's party. He'll probably have sex with at least two or three other women tonight."

"So what were you acting jealous about?" You exclaim with exasperation.

Mrs. Cleft's eyes flick anxiously to her husband just a few feet away, but he seems to be lost in some sports talk program on the radio. When she turns back you can't help but notice the pretty older woman's rosy cheeks.

"It was you," she hisses. "I thought...I mean..."

"You're acting like your husband."

"I'm attracted to you," she blurts. "That's why I asked you to come along."

You feel a strange flutter in your tummy. It's weird to hear this woman you have known as a neighbor for so long, a woman a little more than twice your age, acting like a shy teenager. And to make matters worse it's over you!

"So there it is," Mrs. Cleft looks away. "I shouldn't have said anything."

You detect a sad note in her voice, but you can't answer her right away. You're still grappling with how to respond.
