Into the woods, into the woods

Deciding that the cover of the woods would likely be less dangerous than an open trek up rough mountain terrain, you decide to head along the path into the thick foliage. In only a few steps the sunlight all but disappears, blocked by the canopy of the massive trees.

You cautiously walk along the path, making sure your light steps disturb as little of the environment as you can. After a minute or two you hear a faint cry for help. You instinctively turn to the cry, and see around 15 yards off the path a small clearing, with numerous thick spider webs. In the webs struggling for their lives were three tiny fairies, pulling hard against their sticky prison to no avail.

You could go and try to help them, after all such tiny creatures couldn’t be a threat. But whatever caught them certainly could be... it you could just continue on the path.
